For investing strategy just take coins number 1 - 3 on coinmarketcap list, for your own safety this is the best option. Rest of them is new, even they have good price moving action or high supply/ demand there's no proof they can survive. i suggest you to leave atcoin for now, bad market condition make every strategy fail.

I don't think investing on altcoins is better than on bitcoin because the value of altcoins has gone to the bottom while btc price not fall below $6000.
But i know some altcoins are worth to invest for long term like XMR, BCH because you can see the value is not decrease like other altcoins.

I advice to invest in many different alts and not just one coin/token ..So don't put all your eggs in one basket. That is a safer way to guarantee your profit. My idea is to look for a solid ICO, one that has a working product and invest into it. Hold for a good period of time and once there is a good profit, you are free to sell it and reinvest or cash out, whatever feels good to you!
