Getting bitcoin to have an ETF is definitely probably going to be difficult, but it's definitely also not impossible.

If you're really interested on how close or how far bitcoin is to have an ETF, I suggest following Gabor Gurbacs[1] on Twitter. He's the sort of strategist in VanEck(an investment management firm).

Also, if you want to dig deeper, here's an interview with Gabor months ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQNRt3WUN-A

Maybe we can just leave on how Bitcoin be accepted by SEC, ETF and other regulatory commission by its government. These people are really trying to either solved and accept the crypto digital transaction into a main stream market or continue to Hold them? The global news about Crypto had an impact on the global market. everyone is adopting it yet the government want to control it. let wait further how this agency handle the public clamor about crypto.

majority of bitcoin users don't care about ETF anymore so if by "hope" you mean people waiting for an ETF to be approved then no, i don't think that many are waiting for such silliness anymore.
but if you are only talking about whether SEC would some day approve of bitcoin ETF then yes, it will eventually happen. it may take a couple of years for them to give in and accept it but it will happen nonetheless. i read somewhere that in some other country that i have forgotten now bitcoin ETFs were taking place already! so it is just US that has fallen behind.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

I'm sure a lot of them are still eagerly waiting, as the consensus seems to be that ETFs will drive prices way up. This is probably especially applicable now considering Bitcoin's massive drop; it needs a bull run catalyst, and that may turn out to be a Bitcoin ETF approval.

I'm not sure they care about the actual ETF though lol. I certainly don't.

Bitcoin ETF to me doesn't really hold so much for the bitcoin, and I do not see any reason why anyone should be enthusiastic about it, If it does come, then fine, if it doesn't,then fine as well
Most people made predictions about the ETF being a sort of catalyst for the bill run,i will advice you not to take that predictions seriously if that's the reason why you're enthusiastic about it

Without the crash it would have been possible to get that elusive etf. There was a prolonged period of stability at around $6500 so it was within reach. But then it lost half its value in one week..

People should not pin their hopes on a Bitcoin ETF being approved by the SEC. The SEC is just a puppet that are being controlled by the wealthy elite and the wealthy elite have a vested interest on not allowing uneducated masses of people, reaching their status.

When you are rich, you control people and your living environment. The wealthy elite use their wealth to bribe government employees and politicians <decision makers> to play by their rules. The Bitcoin ETF, if approved will boost the wealth of the millions of people who are invested in Bitcoin now and the wealthy elite hates that.  Tongue

I read somewhere that Brkkt  ETF will come on stream by the first quarter of 2019. SEC has agreed to accept Bkkt ETF because they have almost complied with SEC standards to be accepted and more also they are USA based company.2019 will be great for the cryptocurrency market as more ETFs are springing up in other countries.

I am very happy to see that people’s enthusiasm for the Bitcoin ETF is now fading. This is a good thing. If we always pin our bull market hopes on any regulation of Bitcoin, then I think this road will only go to the end. Because the value of Bitcoin itself does not require any agency to recognize it.

Cryptocurrency fans and investors believe in bitcoin to the extend that they do not care what U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) say about bitcoin. No body cares about their approval of ETF.

I know some people they buy bitcoin at high prices, and when bitcoin prices go down they do not cut loss.
They decided to hold and await expects prices to rise again. These people claim to be holder.
In fact, they do not want to lose money and become reluctantly holders.

I think I would do the same if I was in their shoes. Bitcoin has one more card to play; things will change when the Governments finally agrees to approve ETFs.

ETF drama will never end, although few country are wondering to add bitcoin on stock exchange means their own ETF. But ETF approval from SEC is not going to happen easily whatever we think. I am suspecting SEC is making drama about ETF approval. They are just changing the date during long time. Another reason BTC price start shaking when start ETF discussion. How will SEC approve if Bitcoin price play like that? Bitcoin not staying any zone lately. Last expectation BKKT, if its approve on January then we can hope SEC will think deeply about it. However BTC look like uptrend from last day, lets see whats going to happen on next year.

ETF application will never ends until approved!
Why is that? The regulatory board or SEC never said that ETF will never have a chance to be approve.
They always says that improvement and development is needed, regulation is a must.

then for now and in the future any information about ETFs and regulations is forgotten except for one news about the approval of the ETF application, if besides that then surely what happens is the continuous decline in bitcoin prices. It would be sad if this continued

that's because, so far, the applicants haven't fit the financial archetype that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is looking for.
anyone how can us to improve to get ETF? or crypto valueble is the technology not the coin are giving out..

I don't understand why people hoping for crypto ETF?? What's the utility of it?? Do you all think that ETF will infuse more liquidity into the market and shoot the price higher?? Re think after knowing the facts. Lets look at the facts,

1. Total 9 ETFs were proposed.
2. Only 1 ETF (winklevoss) is physical.
3. Rest 8 ETFs are synthetic

Synthetic ETFs are not going to buy physical bitcoins from the market. They are mainly based on CME group's future contracts. Only 1 ETF proposed by Winklevoss, is physical ETF where physical assets will be purchased and taken out of circulation.

Looking at these facts, do you think the market will sustain such hype in long run? ETF should be considered as an optional addition to cryptospace, not an integral one!

Bitcoin is too volatile for ETF. I don't think we'll get listed there soon enough though because of all the dramas and the performance that had Bitcoin get into. Maybe when Bitcoin is in its peak, we might have a chance to get listed there.
