Well, the research is kinda of right, been that gambling addiction is mostly affecting the young people because the majority of people who uses the internet is the young generation. Nowadays, one does not need to go to an offline casinos to gamble, all you need to do is to log in to your favorite gambling site to play. If gambling was exclusively offline, then probably age restrictions and caution will be made.

Though,  some governments of some countries are trying to manage this addictions but as far as internet still exist, it will take a lot of man power.

I don't agree with the research that gambling effects young mind and people only, as in my experience it's the aged seniors who're often playing and are addicted more to gambling. While it's true gambling does creates excitement in the mind of young gamblers, but they're able to get out of it. However when you look at seniors these're people who're constantly addicted and are often seen playing huge bets be it land based casinos or online ones.

Also you do not get merits for posting links, improve your language skills, participate more in discussions if people like your post naturally then they'll give you merits.

People get gambling addiction because they don't know how to use it properly. They don't know what is the good and the bad benefits of it. They are going to addiction from gambling because they are always enjoying from what they are doing, and they can't control of themselves how to stop it and to continue it without any self damages control. That's a no-no! (The Only thing you should do for merits is writing great posts without expecting a merit. Actually based on my observation gambling addiction is depend on person if he will stop or not. Many people choose not to stoo because of the excitement and the feelings that they will win a large amount of money. And sometimes the addiction of the young people came from the seniors who are they watching and making as a inspiration in gambling end up loosing their money as well as become addict in gambling on time.

Maybe the young people think that they can make money from gambling because they see that many people still playing gambling without stop and perhaps they are curious about this and getting try to playing gambling. However, if we take a look at UK online gambling statistics for 2018, the biggest social group is aged between 25 and 34, which can qualify as late youth, I guess. But that's gambling, not gambling addiction. I think it is hard to conduct proper research on addiction, especially with young people involved. There are some researchers claiming that young people are more emotional and thus develop an addiction often than adults, while others maintain that gambling addiction doesn't depend on age.

I certainly would not say the data is bullshit but greed is just one thing that obviously has dominated the minds of so many gamblers.

Young people who have been trapped in gambling will find it difficult to break away, although gambling does not have a direct impact on health and body but gambling addiction can damage the mental and psychological effects that can have a negative impact on the surrounding environment, the way to quit addictions is very difficult, must come from each individual's self, such as changing mindset and lifestyle.

Maybe most of the time experienced by young people and little experienced by parents, today is where the development of highly developed technology is now widely used by young people, it is true that there are so many young people there who are very vulnerable to addiction, they still unstable and sometimes still not having a good attitude, they are still chasing pleasure without thinking about the effects that will occur on young people at an early age, they are not ready to anticipate everything.

Maybe it is people who are not smart in utilizing technological progress, so that it goes into negative things that are not good, but many young people are advancing in a more useful or positive field, I do not consider it all bad.

I am neither denying the fact nor agreeing with the conclusion of the survey here! because it is impossible for a single entity to gather a complete picture globally. It is very much possible for a single entity to capture the picture of the local scene and probably they have witnessed such trend of addiction on a particular area or country! So it is not a report generated by a holistic approach, I believe!

However, Gambling addiction is a mental disorder as recognized by World Health organization. There are various ways to treat that disorder. But this particular disorder is not so common like cough and cold and that's why you can't simple walk in to your nearest physician's clinic to get the remedy!

The major challenge is to understand that someone has this disorder. Once identified correctly, it can be treated with proper psychiatric guidance. If I have enough power and if I see that this issue is going out of control in a particular region, I would probably arrange for free counselling sessions for each addicted gamblers. But that is highly unlikely!

Gambling is something that is always finding a way to halt the control of someone over himself which is believed to be in the same category when it comes to drugs and alcohols, but in this case we are talking about a psychological addiction rather than a physical addiction.

Self will really affects the decisions of many people who's still engaged with gambling, even there's already research and study about this addictions but if the person itself don't want to apply every ideas there's nothing we can do, it's needed for the person to move forward and completely move away from
his own will so the treatment will be more effective.
