I'm curious to see how will your beta work after release.

Yea, this is quite correct. People mistake this tech company as an average ICO. The funding was done so that they can work on their own blockchain protocol (Sylo protocol) and improve their current application which has years in the market right now, being used by more than 20,000 users and businesses.

When will the project go live or when will the decentralized application be available for users?

They have an application already launched, you can download it for iOS, Android and Windows. It's a semi-centralized application, their fully decentralized platform will be released by the end of March.

Yes, they started working on communication confidentiality quite a long time ago. They found a better solution if they combine P2P network with blockchain nodes so that the communication platform would be completely decentralized.

Their application is currently a semi-centralized P2P confidential communication app, which was released way before trying out to find a solution through blockchain. Taking the communication components from there, they will soon release a blockchain enabled comms platform as part of a user-first ecosystem, that enables seamless connection to other DApps. Don't forget to check their beta program, beta will be released by the end of March.

What is the point of Sylo, we already have communications platforms?

There are some big advantages of decentralisation in communication. Data is one - with a decentralised solution you retain ownership of your data. The other is who controls the platform... With a centralised service, one company owns the users, and can do pretty much anything they like to extract value from their users and their information. They can harvest data, they can advertise, they can share their users’ data with other companies... With an open, decentralised service, what the service does is out in the open so all parties have to act fairly
