With all the recent threads concerning Emptygox on this subforum, can we get a dedicated MtGox subforum to keep things more organized? Also move the active Gox threads in there?

Edit: I'm not suggesting to move the Gox topic out of the Service subforum - all I'm saying is dedicate a sub-sub-forum (within this one) for it, because it's such a huge issue it deserves it.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I agree it is a "service" issue paramount.  The mystery/theft of our age --so far!

I'm not saying get it out of the Service subforum - all I'm saying is dedicate a sub-sub-forum (within this one) for it, because it's such a huge issue it deserves it.

Does the forum not even run on Gox servers?

Would make sense.
Announcements could also be pinned.

To be honest, each major exchange\service should have their own subforum under service discussion.

I mean at the time of my post, there are 10 votes.  I'd say it's a bit early to call it.

That being said, I think it is a good idea.  This whole melt down is a big event, at least for the time being.  Having a dedicated sub forum (or sub-sub forum) with stickied topics that provide actual information as opposed to random speculation, could help the keep the community informed.  Users could catch up on breaking Gox news and speculate without having to comb through non related threads.  Further it would allow the service discussion sub forum to return to topics about entities that are currently providing bitcoin services.  All in all, it seems like a win-win.

This kind of news gets dull after awhile and people will eventually stop spamming it, just let it die off a dignified death rather than giving people reason to keep on spamming.

No we need to keep it going, but not mixed with the rest of the topics in the Service subforums. It deserves its own sub-sub-forum is my point.

There won't be a MtGox sub-forum created, no need for one in the long term

Gotta agree with that... BTC-24 case took half year and it wasn't this bad.

Did we have a bitcoin exchanges subforum
For people who want to comment on Bitcoin Exchanges could be a child board
Then Toss Mtgox into the damn thing and bunch a bunch of other bitcoin exchanges into one place

Believing in Bitcoins and it's ability to change the world

But are we going to need the subforum ten years from now? Other subforums would still be relevant in the future.

How hard is to delete/archive a subforum once it's not needed?

I'd say no, for the same reason we don't have a pirateat40 subform. There will be no reason to continue discussion about gox in a month.
