New title(rank) introduced by Jet Cash called spambie. Thanks to JC for discover new title. Really it's not fun, I realized the title and just want introduce to all. Recently so many accusation or complain regarding new merit system. But if you visit their profile you will realized that they are spambies instead of call newbie. Most of them are one line spammer and they are complaining about merit and meriting post of high ranked account. So I think it's really appropriate title (spambie) for them. Problem is they just want earn merit, never try to change posting behaviour. We are every one was newbie here. But we try to learn first then try to contribute something. Unfortunately current situation is different. People's just join for earn from here, especially bounty. I know it's not wrong. But once they see they need merit to be rank up than they start complain which is not fair I think. So called them spambies isn't wrong (IMO).

Those people's are just made complain instead of contribute something really they are spambie. Few people's are joined less then week and they are complaining about merit and meriting legendary. Actually they are not aware about all of rank and required. They just like to make complain.

Seriously? LOL. then i should suggest to create another section of this forum and it should be worth it to be called SPAMBIE section. Then there should be a welcoming message that will says "Welcome ShitHeads Enjoy Spamming Shitposts where no one really care for you"

This forum is the best cryptocurrency forum I know of.
And we have to do our bit to reduce the spam and contribute quality, to improve the level of knowledge especially with newbies as we know little of the forum.
But going through all there is is complaint about the merit system, and complaints about those complaints.

Hopefully everything calms down soon, and we can have a healthy environment to learn and interact.

I find really annoying people who constantly bash newbies without giving any real solution to the problem they complain about.

I don't seem to get the utility of this. How would a derogatory rank name help in any matter?

People here just use any words that seems to be offensive but if you where looking it on the bright side they're not insulting these people without giving proper guidelines.

I, once happened to be on that situation but after a couple of times trying I knew that my works had been wrong in the past days. These people might not get it, but if you just accept those insults positively you'll be getting on a new life.

Now, if they we're to be called spambies, then there is only 1 thing to get out of that rank, and that is, if they will choose to enhance their capabilities in posting and giving such advantageous ideas that can be beneficial to everyone else.

I don't seem to get the utility of this. How would a derogatory rank name help in any matter?

There's been several solutions proposed the last few months/year. One of the solutions is the 1 merit requirement which recently got implemented. I can understand why people are getting frustrated with all the spam. These people who own hundreds of accounts to claim bounties are raping the forum of quality content, and flooding it with their spam.

I am aware of the latest changes implemented in the rank system.
I do understand that people are getting frustrated about spam, but i was talknig in this particular case...why would a new rank name be usefull and what would this solve?

The only solution that will help with this type of behaviour is that they won't get paid in the bounties campaign. They will eventually grow out of it because they will eventually realise it is a time wasting game.
Maybe there is need of a change in the way bounty campaigns are handled, because everyone knows that the way they are now they just encourage spam..

We aren't bashing the real newbies. We are bashing the school kids who made it to become adults, but still have kindergarten abilities.  Calling them school kids when they rejected schooling is a misnomer in my opinion, and it is misleading.

I repeat, the solution to the problem lies in the way bounty campaigns are managed. As long as they encourage spam behaviour, and even worse reward it, there is no rank name or merit system that will ever stand in the way of these guys.

I'm coming to the conclusion that Bitcoin Talk needs a bifurcation. I'll reflect on it a bit, and maybe I'll start a thread with a suggestion.

I'm also agreeing with you and they just wasting their energy just by creating so many redundent threads in Meta. I think those spambies or newbies just to be relaxed, take a deep breath and read some of the Merited posts. Then you can identify how much they have put before starting a thread. By looking at the most threads in meta these days from those Merit beggers and I just felt that they just suddenly wake up from like coma and complaining about the system which is already implemented about nearly 8 months.

We all were started as Newbies but being so long as a Newbie/Jr. Member is nothing to do with the merit or the system but all yours and yours only. If you can't change the system better to adopt it rather complaining.

@OP, sorry for being somewhat off topic but it's worth to be mentioning. Because everyone is busy with talking about demoted newbies or spambies and forgotten about other side of the coin.

LoyceV is so close to becoming the 2nd member of it's kind after theymos. He is actually 13 Merits away for reached the 2000 Merits with 1000 earned Merits.

He has created a name for that rank  too "self- made Legendary" isn't that cool Smiley

Can you guess the rank?? It's my own creation and I called it Elite Legendary
How about self-made Legendary?

That means I'm 12 Merits away from campaigning to remove all airdropped Merit, after which theymos and I will have our own private Legendary club Cheesy
More seriously: I never expected to earn this much Merit in 8 months, it's very good for my ego and a great token of appreciation on this forum. I'd have to admit though that I've earned many of my Merit in Meta, and an easy topic started in Meta* easily earns much more Merit than a topic that's much more work started in Bitcoin Technical Support.

As for the word "spambie": it sound much better than pajeet, but the latter can be of any rank.

* I recently moved this topic to the Beginners board, but the majority of the Merits were earned in Meta.

Dude, we're not English teachers.  It's their choice whether they mangle the English language in an attempt to earn money, and you'll notice that many of the posts sound suspiciously similar.

You obviously haven't gotten cynical enough or you're completely blind as to what's going on.  Noobs like coolcryptovator who actually try to help are welcomed.  Others who obviously read nothing here and keep posting the same garbage are ridiculed.  If you don't like it, you're free to do as you please.  Newbies are obsessed with merits and rank because they spam for signature campaigns.

As far as the "utility" of a derogatory name--it's an honest statement of feeling and a mechanism for shunning.  You can disagree with it all you like.

Maybe Bitcoinforum also requires some guidelines (i.e. rules) on how to set up bounty campaigns and what's allowed and what not? Wouldn't it be simpler for mods to just approve/disapprove a campaign before it's posted in the first place than going through hundreds of posts and cleaning that mess?

Spam is not directly related to rank nor do the plagiarism.  It is just matter of fact which rank is contributing how much percentage.
Earning 10 Merit and reaching Member rank is not that difficult but they are finding 1 is also difficult. Users who are contributing/discussing got the 10 Merits and progressed to next rank leaving  more spammers in the rank of Newbie/Jr. Member.

Spammer who are already in rank of Member and above, do not complain because they know if they complain they will get only bashing and complaining is not going to give them 90+ Merit or more.  But newbies ad Jr.Member take chance if someone get caught in their emotional drama and they have a chance of rank progression.

We have all rules and guideline in place, you just need to check the stickies of that board. Forum just giving the space for free to advertise(Creating ANN and Bounty thread). They are neutral party to every campaign running here so Mods checking anything about campaign  is out of question.

you can award this rank to the ones who were demoted from Jr. rank to Newbie
some manage to go several hundreds posts without a single one that can be merited   Shocked

Well, a solution has to have utility...this is why it is called a solution.

As for mechanism of shunning, i don't disagree with it, human psychology does. It wasn't and never will be an effective solution. This is why it is only regarded as a solution in our days by primitive societies (and game of thrones).

The solution is simple - educate yourself a little, read far far more than you write, and only write at all if you have something original to say that hasn't been said 100 times before.

When you move away from fiat banking to Bitcoin, there is no one there to hold your hand, to manage your account, to perform security on your behalf, to fix everything when you mess up and get your credit card details phished. Bitcointalk is the same principle. The buck stops with you. If all these newbies spent less time blaming the system and the senior members, and more time reading and learning, they would find many more merits came their way.

Exactly my point, everyone criticizes the newbies, for goodness sake they are just newbies and the rule been implemented is enough to nurture them, criticizes new people joining the crypto space is not a good way to make cryptos go main stream, crypto going main stream is by bring in more people into the space and teaching them about the space, making them feel less like a human is not a good idea, I will love to see when some high ranking members will start to encourage and motivate newbies rather than criticizes. We need to grow the crypto space and it begins with you and me welcoming the newbies into the space

You've missed the distinction between newbies and spambies. No one is criticizing new people joining crypto or joining Bitcointalk. We are all here because we want Bitcoin to grow (for one reason or another), and newbies are the way that happens. Everyone here was a newbie once. The difference is some of us are here to read and learn, not just churn out 10 shitposts a day to meet some campaign requirement.
