SCC Core 2.1.0 - mandatory wallet upgrade - hardfork

SCC Core v2.1.0 is a mandatory update for all users. This release contains consensus changes that are not backwards compatible with older versions. The protocol version will be increased to 70815 to ensure every node is updated before the hardfork takes place.

Protocol enforcement goes into effect on

    Mainnet: Monday, 10 August 2020 12:00 UTC


Hardfork takes place at the following block

    Mainnet: 444000


Masternode(s) need to be restarted from controller wallet after update (we recommend to use "Tool 3" if using multitool.sh and update one by one).

Notable changes
This update addresses the "Stake Grinding" attack by adding a unique tiered coinbase maturation (see PR #49 / attachment) and 50 SCC min stake value.
CheckStakeKernelHash will be fixed and activated after hardfork improving PoS security and stability.

I know that ETH will be added to StakeCube some time this year but is that just for trading or will we be able to earn interest as well like the others currently earning interest? And also will we be able to buy hash to mine ETH like BTC and soon Dash?

I'm sad to see IC getting delisted as it is a coin I stake on StackCube but at the same time I do understand that some coins need to be delisted to make way for other larger coin projects. I'm just looking forward to the day when we see ETH listed on StakeCube.

Interesting to read that SCC will now be switching over to the Dash code base. I see why the team are doing this as the PIVX code does seem to always have problems and has been for years now. I will however miss staking SCC as that's what I'm currently doing right now working my way up towards running a MN, lucky I'm not far off so I should be able to have enough SCC ready when the switch takes place.

So after going over the swap post again, I read that we will be able to earn interest on our SCC which will make up for staking which we can now currently earn from. So its going to be like the current rates like we currently have with BTC, LTC, Dash and Doge which is great for us smaller holders.

Please note the following additions for the upcoming SCC swap based on most asked community questions:

Swap Block
Only coins generated before block 480,000 will be swapped.

All coins that can be sent need to be deposited on a swap-supporting platform by block 480,000.
Any that could not be sent before block 480,000 due to confirmations lock, can be manually swapped afterwards by creating a #new-ticket within 7 days.
Coins generated after block 480,000 will not under any circumstance be considered for swap.

To summarize:

Auto-swap -> Coins on any supporting platform by block 480,000
Manual-swap -> Coins generated before block 480,000 but unable to be sent on time due to the minimum required confirmations. Owners of these coins need to raise a #new-ticket on StakeCube Discord for verification within 7 days of the swap date.

Swap Procedure
In order to swap you only need to deposit your SCC before block 480,000 on a platform/exchange that supports the swap. Everything else is done automatically.

General

- Masternodes will need to be re-installed using DIP3. StakeCube will provide the tools and guides to help you with this.
- We do not recommend to deploy new SCC masternodes on current chain. They will not reward in time before the swap takes place.

- Cold Nodes will be updated automatically but need to be re-installed in your local wallet

Well all my SCC will be fine as I have them staking on StakeCube.

I'm looking forward to this change as I believe it is a step in the right direction and will be more sustainable in the long term which is what we all want. I'm also looking forward to Divi being listed as I can then start staking Divi on the platform, right now I have them on an exchange waiting for this listing.

I just noticed that when I click on the add wallets button that there is ETH wallet which is in maintenance so hopefully not long now before we see ETH added and hopefully we'll be able to earn interest on our ETH and start competing with these yieldfarming projects. I trust StakeCube a lot more then these yieldfarming projects even if the rates will be lower but they will be more sustainable and has a backing from StakeCube's mining.

It looks like a lot of the ones in SCC for the high ROI are now leaving as the price continues to fall which is fine with me as I'm here for the long term and not just after a high ROI like so many people that are in crypto. They forget that SCC has been a rock solid project for a while now and the team have done this to help sustain SCC for the long term. I'm not to worried about the price as I can see StakeCube becoming a major player in the future when it comes to earning interest on your Bitcoin and other coins. I think that once ETH starts earning interest a lot more will come into StakeCube as ETH is very popular at the moment with the DeFi space blowing up. I'm holding SCC for the long term.

It appears it is better rewards to keep the SCC in a QT wallet and not in the SCC website exchange because it pays less in interest vs the staking ROI?

I might pull it out if I can simply stake it in QT wallet and get higher ROI

SCC does not have staking any more. They switched to Dash code which does not have staking, SCC only has Masternodes and mining now. So if you don't have many SCC to run a MN then its best to just leave it on StakeCube to earn the interest instead.

Yes the exchange is still there and running. It has just been update to V3. Click on your wallet tab at the top and you will see a drop down menu and slect exchange.

I will say that I like the new features StakeCube have released recently especially the MineCube, I really like the new look and how it shows the stats for how much we have spent on workers and how much we have earned through mining.
