Hi all,

I am fairly new to Bitcoin & have been sending and receiving Bitcoins fine until recently.

I sent 0.1 BTC to test from my blockchain wallet to my mintpal deposit address, went through fine & quickly, then a further 0.97BTC from my blockchain wallet to mintpal deposit.

Here is the 0.97 transaction: https://blockchain.info/tx/65ec00e298a2a63224bf7dac340d687a009db2e70548e0ddce06db10a06869f1?show_adv=true

40 hours later it is STILL unconfirmed & i'm getting worried now. It is also not back in my blockchain wallet.

Where is my Bitcoin, and how long until it is confirmed can I expect?

Many thanks for any help

Hi,
Your transaction have an unconfirmed input from another transaction (you can see the red U)
https://blockchain.info/fr/tx-index/114443612/19
Which seems to not have enough fees.

Does this mean that my money is safe & that I just have to wait it out?

After searching quickly what happens when a transaction is not confirmed for a long time:
If I understood correctly, either the previous transaction will end up being confirmed and your's too, or the nodes from the network will end up dropping it but look like it can take few days.

What was the transaction made the 2014-03-04 07:57:53 on your address? (if it's not too indiscreet to ask that)

Better don't say if you don't know!

Don't panic, check this: https://blog.blockchain.com/2014/03/05/occasional-unconfirmed-transactions-are-being-addressed/

We acknowledge and are aware of the increased number of “unconfirmed transactions” in some cases.  We are working on ways to address or at least reduce this issue.  Rest assured the transactions will either eventually go through or the funds will be returned to the sender.  No funds are lost.  There is no need to resend the transactions unless the funds are fully returned to the sender.  We understand and apologize for the inconvenience, and we are working to resolve it as soon as possible.
