WHY WAS MY FRIEND BANNED?

A friend of mine,who is a jr. member here was banned few hours ago.I am very new here and it is taking quite a lot of time to make the sense of forum. He was the one I looked up to and now he is banned.Also,there was no reason given for ban.Can you specify the reason for the ban because this is very confusing situation even if its his fault!
It says

That means he must have done some useful posts ?
Everybody does one or two mistakes in their life.

Because I feel bad for him? I have seen putting him effort in his account. One or few posts don't make a person who is. And more often than not,he did post links when he took help.

The irony, he got his only merit two days before new rank requirements being announced. A lot of demoted users hit panic mode and start posting copied posts, as if it's the only way you can earn a damn merit.

You may be right that "Everybody does one or two mistakes in their life".
But, this forum has clearly stated about the prohibition and rules as shown in this link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5036308.0.
In that link has been clearly stated by theymos that there are some rule violations that will lead you to be banned.
Theymos and its administrator already told us about these as part of https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5036308.0

From the statement above, it is clear that everyone that does plagiarism will be absolutely permanently banned.

I know that your friend may have tried very well for this forum and he got merit. But, I'm sure that many newbies here also do the same. We are also doing our best to make a qualified posting to get at least one merit.
But, fault is a fault. And as the consequence of the fault, we must be ready for the consequences after doing that fault. It is better for us to take this as the lesson.
