Good point!

These are the difference with exchange that do have chart tools and for those exchange that do only purely make a trade or purchased crypto with fiat and without any specific trading charts and tools.
Ex. Coinbase vs Binance. We would able to tell on whats the difference on them even they are just similar to be an exchange.

Trading platform is platform where you can trade you coins/tokens and they have graphs, analytcis and more information.

In exchanges you can exchange your coin/token with other coins/tokens.

Also one more difference, which I have seen, is that some trading platforms have no orderbooks at all. So you can buy and sell at whatever spot price they place, meaning, you can't put an order. You want to buy, you have to buy with fiat, sell, sell for fiat. So basically, it's just one big broker who will set the price, and earn from the spread. Exchanges and others earn from commissions, as they facilitate buying and selling between other users. Meaning to say they match up orders. You make a buy or sell order, someone takes it. Or you take an order someone else makes.

Every matched order gives a commission to the exchange.
