Necessary to call MtGox?

I was wondering if it's necessary to call MtGox now to (hopefully) ever be able to claim some of my coins/money from MtGox.

I thought maybe it is too. No, it isn't - they will say nothing except "we cant tell you anything, just keep watching updates on the website".

You won't get any information regarding your account, a timeline, etc.

But they do take your name. I would call them just to get your name registered.

They didnt take my name...

And btw... taking a name sounds like BS, because anyone can say whatever name he wants... they need to check name with account and/or id, imo.

I wonder why they treat one call this way...
and one call another way...

I asked many times if there's anything I can do... anything at all...
I asked how I get recognized as a Creditor...
I asked how do I get my accounts' balance...

To every question the rep responded the same way:
"All you need to do is keep checking the website for updates. nothing else to do, as we wait for the court to decide everything."
