It's never healthy for a market to have one asset dominate the market. One of the reasons crypto is so volatile is because it is so dependent on bitcoin.
although exchanges that do atomic swaps and are decentralized are popping up. The fact is, that btc is the only real practical crypto to cash out on. Until there is more infrastructure to liquidate a variety of assets, btc will still have a large portion of the market share.
But, then there is the problem of btc itself. It's expensive and slow, not really practical for everyday use. So eventually, something better will replace it, it's the natural order of things.
