Eth and Ripples In position fight

Here is my assumption: Any attempt by Ripples to hold the number 2 position will not be sustained, the psychology of investors is such that once ripples grows over eth, it will cause a more buy effect on eth until it eventually sits above XRP.

This was noticed in the last pump of XRP which eventually made Eth to pump for almost 20% before overtaking XRP. The fight could be real but Eth will always win.

Etheruem has always maintained that spot for a longer term than ripples and so certainly, it will keep pushing ripples out that position either through pump or market sentiment. Moreover, the usage of etheruem is far greater than ripples, all that is needed is for a new erc ico to come up

Try to look deeper. It moves up when bitcoin grows and vice versa. How could you topple something which is the most known before you.

It is a good competition but I still see new investors knowing bitcoin first before finding out there is also an ETH that exists.

Ofcourse eth will win in this competition, like what we can see in price of this two, they are both affected of the recent drop but the only one endure this is eth, and nothing to compare xrp on it, honesty i have more faith in eth than xrp.

First thing is that XRP and Ripple are two different things, but I guess in your statement you meant that Ripple means XRP only.
XRP has too much circulating volume and thus when there's a price increase it's overall market cap increases rapidly and for couple of hours it sits above ETH in last week, I think this time XRP will start the bull run in the entire crypto market again, just like the previous year. There's speculation that coinbase will list it as they have recently announced that they'll be adding coins on the basis of there customers requests.

It will not so volatile like another asset such as ripple and ethereum. Both coins are only following bitcoin right now. XRP gets its hype to the good news about development progress.

Market is down most of coins loosing there position, but here is one interesting thing that some coins are increasing their market cap like XRP.
Ripple is a project with huge potential but we can’t under estimate Ethereum, it’s a temporarily dump in ethereum value soon it will re bounce, the reason is mostly coins & tokens converted into BTC or ETH which increase their market cap.

I think only XRP is strong. ETH is still down. In the near future, it is likely that ETH will increase but not significantly then it will decrease sharply.

Ethereum will always win and ripple price pump is always temporary. In terms of marketcap, these two are always in the close fight but I can say that most investors preferred to store Ethereum rather than Ripple. I read an article before stating that Ripple should not be considered as cryptocurrency since their blockchain is centralized. On the other hand, Ripple already built a remarkable partnerships and gaining popularity these past few days. I can say that Ripple can give you better ROI than Ethereum.

for the long term  hodling I will choose the ETH, although many predictions say the ETH still going down but I believe ETH will rise again, once I was hodling  XRP for more than half a year and it is not profitable for me, because XRP always returns to the initial price some time after the pump

I agree with your opinion, although ETH has a significant decrease but it will be difficult for Ripple to occupy the 2nd position of ETH.

The performance of ripple now is really surprising because of pumping and a lot of people are considered that it compete to ethereum. No matter what happen, ethereum and ripple are good for investment.

I think ripple and Ethereum are different technologies and serves different purpose.  Ethereum is controlled by general public, while ripple is managed by a company.  there's no need to race for #2, except for valor and pride.
