"I am no longer involved in that and I cannot discuss it. It's been turned over to other people. They are in charge of it now. I no longer have any connection."

This quote may very well be out of context. Reporters sometimes like to take Answer #2 and staple it to Question #1

There is also no context of this particular answer

yep, and also: who says, that he actually said this? you need a better proof than this.

You didn't even try refuting any of the arguments following your OP, you just skipped to ad hominems right way.

first off, the guy lived in plain sight. with his name intact.

gavin and satoshi's family helped out him - possibly inadvertently.

and, if the freelance reporter who who found him didn't - someone else would have eventually.

he admitted "I am no longer involved in that and I cannot discuss it. It's been turned over to other people. They are in charge of it now. I no longer have any connection."

it's not like he tried hard to hide.

i can't help to think that he may actually have wanted to be found -

just not this soon.
I doubt he actually wanted to be found, he hasn't used his real name in a long time... the article mentions he's been fighting cancer and had a stroke, so maybe he just slipped up... he's not very young anymore  Wink

I think the reporter went to far in revealing his address and license plate number and other private details. There is a very serious and real security concern here, which she obviously doesn't care about.

Newsweek should just stick to its regular garbage, like who twittered which celebrity about what stupid thing, like it usually does.

They aren't smart enough for anything else any ways.
