If you are a bounty hunter and you are not careful enough, yes, there's a good chance you'll promote scam projects too.
And I know that it's hard to find the bounty, join before the limited number of places fills up and also research the background of the project you'll promote.

It is also important to follow any announcements about the ICO you can find on this forum. For example you can check periodically the  Scam accusation board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0 Also, closely follow the Bounty thread of the ICO you are promoting. If a member of this forum finds that the ICO you are participating in is a scam project, he will announce the find on the Bounty tread. React promptly and remove the signature. You NEVER want to promote or be a part of a fraudulent ICO, especially after being warned by a higher ranked member, or else you may get red trust.

In this era of fake projects everywhere, I don't think it's possible for a bounty hunter to escape been a victim of promoting fake and scam projects. Even when things has not got worse than this, I have promoted 2 or 2 scam ICOs.

Yes, it can happen but I think that today it's quite possible to recognize a scam project. Just search for informations.

Apparently every bounty hunters is prone to promoting scam ICO unless you are extremely careful by screening every bounty campaign you want to participate in.. I've been victim more than once and now I'm always cautious about bounty campaigns

The fact is that we are advertising agents nothing more. We ourselves often don’t know what we are promoting. But this is just advertising and we are not insured against scam. No matter how much time you spend on studying a project, there is a risk that this is a scam.

To this we must take it easier for us it is just a job.

Yes we can easily figure out the scam projects just by searching the management team's image and their name as some people just snip image from LinkedIn profile and also check the partners as well and need to check the white paper as once you are familiar with ICO projects then just by reading white paper you can filter out the scam ICO's.

You as a bounty hunter can 100% avoid of risk od scam by selling your stakes immediately after they are earned: check this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4886344.msg46260610#msg46260610.

Now you can Participate in the bounty and get ETHER (eth) for stakes you're earning on Facebook, Twitter, Moderation and Signature campaigns.

Well I don't think that you wanted to promote a ICO isn't it. But if you are not careful in joining bounties there are chance that you might unintentionally though.

That's the risk of joining bounties because its like gambling, you don't know if the project that you are promoting will turn out to be a scam and of course you wouldn't received the tokens or rewards that you have work hard for.

Sometimes those scammy ICO are hard to detect that's why you need to be very mindful of projects you are willing to work for. Fortunately though, you can visit this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0 to see if the project you wanted to promote is a scam or not.

These days more and more project's that you will see, are either scam or they pay you, but their coin/token isn't worth anything, so you wasted your time for nothing. For bounty hunting you need to be careful, as it takes too much time and your morale goes down, after a couple of failed projects and you start to think of exiting bounty for good! I am my self taking a break, after hard work of nearly one year, I have 70 coins that cost a total of about 1000 dollars and that's a reality, not taking in to account on how many I had been scammed on!

Not entirely true and not entirely false.  As bounty hunter, you have to choose which project will give you the most benefit, in terms of coins and exposure.  Many bounty hunters do not check whether the projects they pushed are scam or not, they are just after self-benefit.  On the other hand, some bounty hunters do check the projects if they are potential scam or not.  If they sense the project is a scam, they will exit quickly and look for other projects to support.

I already have a lot of experience in bounty management, but I will never participate in scam projects or advertise them. Reputation is more important, although, of course, in the conditions of most participants anonymity it goes by the wayside.

Yes, it is true. Our deficiency as a bounty hunter is we tend to choose the wrong bounty program undeliberately, and ended up promoting scam projects which cause us stressness as well. Though we don't put our money in the first place as a capital, but we work really hard for this and when you found out that the project was a scam, i was so pissed. But whatever happened is already happened, so from now on, we have to be more selective with the bounty programs we'd like to join.

As far as i know, there is hard to find and realize scam ico if you start from beginning of project launch.. Besides, i think bounty hunter is not only participating one project maybe and careless about project background.. thats my IMO..

So, promote a scam ico is not bounty hunter mistake at all..

I thought that so many newbies have experienced to promoting the scam project and almost all of bounty hunters ever promoting the scam project. They have been learning a lot of lessons from this case and so many bounty hunters are taking so many consideration before started to promoting something that has no clue about what is that.
This has become the main problem because there is so many scam icos.
