It doesn't work that way. For BTC to drop from $6500 to $500, it would take another 171.42% decrease. The chances of that happening is extremely slim in my opinion.

I think the greatest contributor to price decrease in 2018 have been government bans and regulations on trading. Up until January this year, China was the largest Bitcoin market. Don't think we'll see any more major price drops unless more countries start banning.

a "victory" for bitcoin is when it gets more adopted not when it gets more speculators and we see a bubble because of them. 2017 was a victory not because of the price rise but because of the major adoption increase that happened like Japan case.

well at the start of December 2017 price was $9k and by the end of December 2017 price was $15k. i wouldn't call that "drastic fall".

did you by any chance meant $5000 instead of $500? because $500 is just dumb.
in any case you are correct, if there is another drop we can see $5000 but the question is, Will there be a drop? and in my opinion there isn't any drops, we may see some manipulation and an attempt to push it down again but these attempts aren't known to last long or even be successful that much.

$6k to $500 is not realistic indeed. That huge dip is very impossible to happen. If ever bitcoin will fall to that very low value at the end of the year then altcoins' value will be down to zero. For we all know that when btc value drops, altcoins value will go down as well.

That down fall will really create panic if it will happen. We can't really tell but in my own honest opinion about the value of bitcoin, I'm pretty sure that it wont go down past $5k. We shouldn't underestimate the community that supports this awesome technology.

Bitcoin has gone so many downfalls but still remained strong and recovering every dips that happened. What I can see is that by the end of the year or the beginning of the next year, bitcoin will have a strong recovery. We just have to wait and see what the future will bring.

Its because when we almost touch $20000 we are already in a bubble. It got burst easily that's why the price is hovering around $6500-$7000 but it's still good in my opinion.

What made you think that bitcoin will fall to $500? Or do you mean $5000? I don't think that bitcoin will go $5000 or below, the price keeps stabilizing around $6000. I think people are willing to bought bitcoin around that price so I doubt that we will reach another bottom ($5800) this year.

No one has the crystal ball but if you are looking at the sentiments and the news around, there's a possibility that we can go as high $8000-$10000 at least in 2018.

I don't believe in OP at all. You said bitcoin went downtrend in 2017 when it reached 20K USD value. Wrong. It actually went ATH after having the values near to 1000 USD by January 2017 and it step by step went up high to 5000 USD where it stabilised a bit, fallen back again and then jumped ATH. This is how it went through 2017 and this is what happening this year as well. Look at the values, they went down because it was obvious that people will sell for higher prices and thus market will get liquified. Now slowly the market is again getting condensed and thus it will rise in the value slowly for sure.

it think OP is saying price will fall $500 not to $500 which means for example if price is $6500 now it will fall down $500 and reach $6000.
if I am right then $500 is not really a significant drop, considering that size is only 7% and that falls within daily fluctuations. although breaking a buy support like $6k and going $500 below it has its own significance because it is a very major buy support and it is extremely hard to break it and stay below. if we successfully break it with a ridiculously big dump then it won't be $500 drop, it can go as big as $1000 because of the panic. but I wouldn't expect a big panic since the panic seller weak hands have been flushed from the market.

Bitcoin's victory is a victory for investors, and bitcoin users. I realize that every year bitcoin always increases for the better, but when bitcoin falls drastically from $ 20K and now bitcoin price only $ 6K, I think it's not a victory for some investors.
