Exactly! You need to be careful, never store your bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies in the exchange, you need to move it to your personal wallet if you are planning to hold for long-term, because in most of the exchanges now are very risky, you don't hold the private keys of wallets.
It is better to safe bitcoin in the separate wallet and doesn't put all of Bitcoin we have in one wallet because this will makes us very careful and extra secure. We need to hold some amount on the exchange so we can still trade and make a profit and after we get the profit, it is better to send the profit into another wallet. Stay safe and be careful in the cryptocurrency and in the exchanges that we use for trading in daily so we can keep bitcoin amount safe in our wallet.

The recent happenings of hack are becoming rampant that exchanges are no longer safe. If the exchanges can get hacked this means you and me stand no chance at all so in view of this if you can do get cold wallet/ Web wallet to keep ur funds safe, never leave ur long term bags on any exchange.
Do not visit random links and also stay away from airdrops requiring your private keys or Passphrase.
Do not store your private key or passphrase online.
It's called a private key or passphrase because only you should have it and not even the developers of the app has access to it and that is why if you lose your keys you have equally lost your walllet.
Stay positive and waiting for the bull run. Stay safe everyone!
I don't really do that, storing private key online is a risk especially EXCHANGERs this a good warning to Newbies never to store anything that has to do with your wallet access online even on your phone and also make sure in all of your important ACCOUNTs you hit it with Google authenticator for your ACCTS to be safe and make sure its not everyone you let access to your phone. TRUST NO ONE!.

Never trust an exchange you need to verify the security of your funds. Since you don't hold your own private key, the security of your fund is potential for vulnerabilities and tge worse case scenario is that the coin might be lost forever. Better transfer big funds in your own wallet.

Yes we must be very careful of what we are doing and where we are surfing online because anything online can be hack and is not safe. I heard so many news about scam since last year up to now and it is very alarming. I am quite afraid for my coins online so yes I am not holding it so long in any wallet or exchanger online.

I totally agree on this, this is why people should be discourage on storing funds on exchanges. OnCE you put your funds in an exchange, you already do not have control over your fund. Instead of storing it in a exchange, better store it in an open source wallet like what I'm using called Hodler wallet, it is open source meaning you have the Full control over your fund no third trusted party needed. It is also the also the only open source multi wallet avaible so you could store any coin you prefer.

Yeah we should be responsible to all our investment, it's our money at stake. Taking care of our private keys and avoid those phishing sites to avoid being a victims of those hackers. Although everything can be hack while it goes online but we can minimize the risk if we are careful with our transactions.

I've been worried about this moment for a long time. I have not seen any project that would be aimed at solving this problem. Obviously, it is necessary to develop the ability to restore access to the wallet in case of loss of the private key, but at the moment it is not possible. Of course, but we have the anonymity of use, but do we need anonymity when the probability of losing their cherished coins is so high?

To be safe, you need special effort. Especially, we need to pay much attention to the computers we trade crypto money.
You are responsible on how you going to keep safe what you have. Sometimes account has been hacked because of the big amount that keep on it. You have to make multiple account or never keep an amount that you are holding in exchanges. To be safe is also on your hand because sometimes when we are overwhelmed on something we forget that we are doing and being careless.

In the first place, it is already suspicious why do they need the private key or passphrase when the only thing that they needed is your address. Be smart enough to know this things because only fools would give their private keys for just an airdrop. 10$ for your private key is not worth it guys. Be always safe.

All of us may be vulnerable to a scam at some time. Scammers succeed because they look and sound too good to be true, and catch you off guard when you’re not expecting it. Scammers are getting smarter and taking advantage of new technology. Protect yourself, be alert to the fact that scams exist, know who and what you are dealing with.

it is very important to be safe in crypto, because it is decentralisation system. be careful while trading and be aware of your wallet security. once you lost there is no possibilities of returning.
If you have larger qty then save it offline. Only keep smaller qty so that you can regularly buy/sell or want to use it frequently to pay different bills etc. Do not store everything under one exchange as well so that you have diversified the risk rather than holding under one wallet.

To every right, there is a responsibility. This is a common saying in my country and i believe it is so in almost all countries. What do I mean by this. You cryptocurrency is good and has saved many from the worries of central banks. What we need to do is to be responsible for our own security.

We must needly carefully safe and maintain our crypto asset.strong password use good security with the exchange wallet and personal wallet.
Yes for now this should be done in order to avoid getting phished out, hacked and also get scam. We have to wait for I guess the crypto dev team were creating a good wallet that is formidable to get access by hackers or hijackers. I have read a letter that was posted few months ago by Al Finney here in bitcointalk forum. If Al Finney will be successful in the developement of the digital wallet for sure cryptocurrency will go strong.

I saved bitcoin on several local exchanges and exchanges too. so far I have not experienced problems for hacking other than those that occurred in the ethdelta case. I think the exchange now has more security that is quite difficult to penetrate

I think we need to be more careful on the equipment used to trade from the computer to the phone. Choose high security devices to keep the information. I use products from Apple. I do not try to advertise but it's really good.
MAC OS is not always the better option. It secure but not really 100% safe, always keep your password offline and never store cryptocurrency in exchange ( use cold wallet )

If you want to secure your funds then you have to be careful about hackers and scammers. You may surf random websites throughout the day but cannot be safe for your overall security. You need to take the proper protection of your assets, passwords, and wallets otherwise hackers will snatch your everything! So, everyone should learn how to be safe and sound. Buying a hardware wallet can be a good solution but still, people need to learn how to keep safe hardware wallets!
You say hardware wallets, but most people don't even care about choosing a good software wallet. I don't understand how people can not care about the security of their money so much as to choose closed source wallets? They can't verify what happens to the private keys and who sees them. When they import private keys to a closed source wallet essentially they can be giving them away to some random stranger. I believe that software wallets can be as secure as hardware wallets, but only if you use fully open source wallets with FULL source code for the current version available on GitHub, like Bitcoin Core, HODLER mulitwallet, Electrum etc. I don't get it how people can use a closed source wallet like Exodus just because it looks fancy...

I have never experienced hacking because I always ensure every security for PCs and so on with ATL or Bitcoin wallets. I think every crypto user must be aware of that, security must be improved to ensure everything is safe.

If we want to keep our assets and exchanges safe then we must be aware of hackers and scammers. We need to good use of our internet security and should not go to random websites which could be costly for us. So to make safe and sound our wallets as well as private keys we need to have the best knowledge overall internet security.
