Mirai is a proof of stake and masternode coin with dual purposes and dual development paths.
The first development path: Mirai Payments is focused on fast and stable payments through the blockchain with ongoing development to enable integration into multiple platforms, including api, web payments, mobile app payments.
The second development path is Mirai AR: An ambitious Augmented Reality project that will allow anyone to easily create and share AR content with the world and get paid in MRI. With Mirai AR, basic content creation tools are provided in the app using an easy drag and drop interface. No technical knowledge required. Your content is rated for quality and popularity and will continue to pay you MRI as your content is accessed by other users. Don't want to share your content with the world? Choose to just share with selected friends/ family for a more personal experience. For the more technically minded, there is Mirai AR advanced edit mode. This will be accessed from the website and allows for the upload and creation of 3d assets, programs and games.

Premined coins are 1.5 mil, and total supply is 16 mil.
It means that the coin was premined at 9.375% of its max supply.
How about the plan of MIRAI team on main purposes of those 9.375% premined coins?
The premined coins were for the voluntary swap from xgox. Because there was no way to know how many people would participate, a large amount was premined. All xgox was sent to a burn address directly by the participants. All left over MRI (1.2 million) was also sent to a burn address. A burn address is an address where no one could possibly hold the keys, so funds sent there can never be recovered and are effectively removed from circulation. It is very unlikely that we would ever have any development on the hardware side of NFC payments.
Software side is interesting, but no plans for it at the moment.

Nice project. I have created already one masternode. I will build my second masternode the next week. I would like to reserve the French translation. Also I know that the team wanted to deliver the whitepaper on time. They respected their promise. They did deliver the whitepaper on time. But in my opinion the whitepaper need more work. It is not really selling or showing well the Mirai idea. The team should take time and write a better whitepaper which can share more their great idea.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. You are right about the whitepaper. We were being careful to try not to create hype and just provide facts, but ended up underselling the true potential. Many people probably didn't realize how unique the plans are, and the viral potential of the final product. A new version is already being worked on. We will also update the website soon with more complete information on Mirai AR. This will include details on how the content creation rewards will be calculated and distributed, details on the asset marketplace and information on revenue streams. |

We've put up a new explorer while the main explorer is down : http://149.56.131.194:30001/ It is not completely set up yet, so it will probably go down a few times as we update, but it works and shows the latest transactions. |

The team defined they short term and long term goals clearly. However the project still under the radar because the team did not start the marketing yet. It will be good if the team apply to be listed on the Beam platform powered by Graphcoin. there are already 32 project listed on the platform. That could provide more exposure to Mirai.
