Do you have any better pictures, perhaps with lighting from underneath?
I can tell they are "deep-red", but I think the contrast between gem and background is making it seem darker than it actually is.

I agree and my macro lens has arrived! I have added a couple of better pics and will be adding better pics for all of my gems all around. This new round doesn't have backlighting for the stones but do represent them fairly well. They are quite deep in color.
