Do you get added to random Telegram groups? Read this!

Hi all,

I noticed recently that I get added to random groups on Telegram. Whether it's for an ICO, an airdrop channel, or etc.

I think scammers just go through a telegram group participant list on an ICO and just add everybody they want to their groups. And since most of us have more than 50 channels on Telegram, it is difficult to track and recognize the fake ones.

There are two ways that scammers can benefit by adding you to a Telegram group:
1- Increase their participant number in their shitty airdrop channels,
2- Claim tokens for airdrop/bounty by impersonating your account

I suggest everyone to do the following to avoid being added to these random groups:
1- In your Telegram go to Settings
2- Select Privacy and Security
3- Select Groups & Channels
4- under "who can add me to a group chats" select My contacts
5- add "F*CK you scammer" as your Telegram name

It has been noted that "we can actually be added to a telegram channel when a channel owner we previously joined create another channel."
In order to solve this try:

1. Telegram Settings
2. Privacy and Security
3  Groups
4. Who can add me to a group chats? > select My contacts
5. Add exceptions > Never allow > Add Users

Add those users in your contact list who you don't know personally (ex. Owner of previously joined group) so that they will not be able to add you in other groups.

Same here,its been happening frequently,i just simply report spam and leave the group...

Very correct,really difficult to differentiate between them,considering the huge traffic on my telegram account..

I do not really mind anyone earning tokens but not at my expense,adding me to groups without my discretion..

Yeah. Working It is big problem. I usually check my telegram and quit from those scam telegram groups.

I also get added to several telegram channels without soliciting for them. In fact, over 50% of the telegram  channels on my list fall to this category. I have noticed that there is a good side to it because I have learnt one or more things from these channels. I quickly press the exit button anytime I notice wrongdoings in a channel.

That's because they were added in your contacts. If you don't want that to happen, go through the same settings and add no. 5:

1. Telegram Settings
2. Privacy and Security
3  Groups
4. Who can add me to a group chats? > select My contacts
5. Add exceptions > Never allow > Add Users

Add those users in your contact list who you don't know personally (ex. Owner of previously joined group) so that they will not be able to add you in other groups.

I have experienced this problem for a long time and have tried your solutions, but it is useless.
Wake up daily and find myself added to more than five groups "report and leave the group."
You can edit the topic so that everyone can benefit from it, the improved solution below

Thanks for this tip , those groups are really frustrating coupled with unnecessary messages with notifications almost every second.

Actually, I never tried to resolve this issue although I was constantly being added to different trash groups. After that I usually report spam and if 50-100 other people do the same this group will be blocked.
This solution is not as elegant as that given here, but spammers must suffer.

I'm getting this problem almost every single day!  People didn't stop to inviting me the the trash channel & groups, it's so disturbing & annoying. But this is the right solution, thanks for making this tips!

Thanks for sharing this information and directly changed my settings, lately I noticed that the number of groups was growing and mostly I never did hear about the groups before. Also can't remember that I did sign up somewhere but think that they are scraping this information from fake/real airdrops or using a script to scan this forum.

It was really a great help by OP as i was also facing the same problem but as i was not regularly working on telegram so it did not affected me but still now i am safe by getting added in random telegram groups after making corrections in my setting as per your guide.
