Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

No offence, but it looks more like a self 'inflicted' mark rather than an actual error. Just my 2 satoshi...
Edit for clarity: Not saying that this is something you did, but it just doesn't look like a manufacturing error.

it's an imperfect mark left during production. heart shape shows up quite well on enlarged photo.
