Cost to mine SC just went up 600% but the price didn't go up 600%.  Oops.  Guess that is why despite GPU mining, SC hashrate is down 40% from the peak.  If you compare the relative hashrates on equivalent hardware LTC now is way past SC in terms of mining support.

Anyone want to start a betting pool on when SC 3.0 launches?  Maybe it will be the first "crypto-currency" (using the term loosely) with built in draconian DRM and hardware lockout.
The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Sorry I missed this thread and posted a related question in a similar one.  However, the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zimbabwean_dollar link is too good to waste and 10^25 sets a standard that makes the SC reval pretty small.  Watching with interest how SC develops.

Seems to me that Solidcoin has not only managed to create the first digital fiat currency, they've also managed to create the first digital central reserve and managed to screw it up with failed monetary policy.

This is turning into an awesome "What not to do" for someone looking for an economics thesis.
