There are numerous people named Satoshi Nakamoto.

If you're so smart, name at least one..

LMAO was that a deliberate joke or are you just incredibly dimwitted?

Isn't it obvious or are you dimwitted yourself?  Grin

The Newsweek article described several in the USA. You can find like 6 people on LinkedIn. You know how to use a search engine.

And to a great extent Satoshi predated the popularity of linkedin.
He's probably not even one of the 6 people that show up in a search.

Don't blame Satoshi for the news reporter's irresponsibility in publishing hastily, and without adequate verification.

If you're gonna make up an online handle (screenname) that is going to become associated (or synonymous) with something as big as Bitcoin
at least be a little fucking creative and not use the name of a real guy who just happens to fit your profile and characteristics...
Do you really think satoshi thought bitcoin was gonna get as big as it is now? no, so stop bashing him for fucking stupid reasons

Why are we acting like there are not richer people out there criminals are probably more interested in.  It's way easier to steal gold or paper.. only a tool would attempt to physically steal a wallet.  OH I GOT THE FILE YA.. now all I gotta do is solve this 35 character password...  Furthermore he lives in america.. the cops would be there asap.  I don't think he is in as much danger as people think he is.

And how is his life ruined? They said hes the possible creator of bitcoin. It's not like hes been added to the sex offender list. All this stuff is silly and out of hand.

Satoshi Nakamoto is a common name in Japan. During the time I spent there I met Satoshis and Nakamotos.

Who is to say this guy didn't post the 'I am not Dorian Nakamoto'? Who can legitimately say who was behind the screen and login for that name? Simple question, but what evidence do you have that he ISN'T the owner of that name online and just typed that up?

Enlighten us.

I'm leaning towards 'congratulations, great joke' - But the amount of dumb shit I read around here, you could forgive me for having to ask.

We're not just talking about people grabbing Dorian or invading his home (worst case scenario but very unlikely).

We're talking about phonecalls where the attacker makes threats or claims to have taken a family member hostage, demanding bitcoin payments. This happens more than you might think to people all the way down the rich lists and can cause a tremendous amount of stress.

Dorian stands a good chance of becoming a target - for the rest of his life.

No, the Newsweek reporter did.
This.
Besides there is no way that he's the only person named Satoshi Nakamoto.

Just ask Michael Bolton from Initech.

Hey dumbass, when the Satoshi psuedonym was chosen, bitcoin wasn't "as big" as it is today. In fact, almost nobody in the fucking world knew or cared what cryptocurrency or bitcoin were back then. It is only thanks to the efforts and struggles of the Bitcoin community over the past three years that bitcoin has grown as big as it has.

Now fuckoff back to your cave, you dipshit troll.

Remember Aaron Swartz, a 26 year old computer scientist who died defending the free flow of information.

Besides, he most likely is our Satoshi, so it's his life that Leah the scummy reporter ruined!  Angry

How many suburban houses do you know of that are more or less completely unsecured and occupied by an elderly gentleman and his 93 year old mother that has $400-$700 million in an online currency, whereby if you get a hold of it no one can reverse the transaction? There are probably hackers that already trying to find out his IP in the unlikely event that he kept some of his wallets on a connected computer.  Angry

The scummy reporter made him a prime target for everyone from government agencies with a political agenda to violent ruthless criminals that would stop at nothing to get a hold of hundreds of millions worth of Bitcoins!  Angry

There is no way the creator of Bitcoin, isn't securely storing his Bitcoin.

I think its him personally, he's just humble. And we can value the coin at half a billion but when he would sell he would crash the price, meaning its not really worth half a billion if nobody will buy it all off him at 1 fixed price.
