I made a database of ICO Listing Websites (Complete List Inside)

-Intro-

I've been marketing my own project (BOOSTO) for quite a while now, and a few months back I decided I would add it's upcoming ICO to about as many listing sites as I could find. Unfortunately for me I had a tough time finding an aggregated list that was both complete, and regularly updated. So I opened up a spreadsheet and began making my my own.

I recently reopened my spreadsheet and went through my list documenting & updating the sites we were listed on. I had initially put off doing this task because I had some anxiety due to how painstaking the process was in my first go around...but with my database it was actually a breeze.

I had originally used this Bitcointalk post as my base, so today I’ve decided to pay forward. Hopefully you can all help me in fact checking and maintaining the list so it can be used as helpful resource for many years to come!

This list is organized by Traffic & Price.

For web-traffic I used a Chrome Extension called “Similar Web”. If a site says “No Traffic” it means the site doesn’t get enough monthly visits for the extension to form an accurate analysis.

For Price it gets a bit more difficult, as many of the sites that are “paid” don’t actually present a pricing structure until after you’ve taken the time to fill out the lengthy application. This is a ploy to get you to pay in order to justify your time spent. It’s pretty scummy, but none-the-less many of the sites listed as “free” may in fact be paid.

I also added notes to some of the listings usually to indicate if a site is temporarily down, or if an application process is done through email. A common trope you’ll notice is that if a submission button is malfunctioning, then the site itself will soon be shut down.

There are currently 275 ICO Listings Sites, and not all the information is correct. Hopefully as I get more contributors the list will gradually become more accurate. If you recognize any errors, or have an additions, then please respond in comments below so I can update it!

After spending a great deal on these listing sites over the past few months, I actually made my own, which I added onto an existing platform that I manage.
It was actually quite easy, which may explain the surplus of listing sites ;-)

That is the plan...it should be low effort if I just aggregate and update with all of the suggestions once a week. But, I feel it will be gradual, as people start visiting organically. Basically people can use this list like a "yelp." I get really annoyed when a site does not reveal they are premium until after you've spent 30 minutes filling out their submission form

...I'm also hoping somebody will find this extremely helpful and give me some merit. I just returned to bitcointalk and realize I can no longer post funny gifs because they changed the rules  

EDIT: I've included some insight below that might be able to help others. Like I said I had to learn on the go and basically start from scratch, which was a really difficult process. Maybe one day I'll write a blog!

- Web Traffic -

You should prioritize the listing sites you add your projects too based upon how many people actually visit that section of the site. Notice I said section & not site. Many traffic aggregators like Alexa will tell you how much total traffic a web-domain receives per month, but that does little good if nobody visits their ICO Listing section.

I use the "SimilarWeb" chrome extension to tell me how much monthly traffic a particular page gets. Its is also useful in letting you know how many visitors took a closer look at your projects section. This is also good for Crypto Enthusiasts looking to invest, as you cam visit the highest populated ICO Lists, and then identify which individual profiled receive the most attention.

- Price Transparency -

There are many listing sites that will try to tick visitors into thinking that they are free, when they are actually paid. If you are attempting to list a project, and the site only reveals their pricing structure once you've already submitted the application then that is a huge red flag. Most application process's are very lengthy, some taking up to 30 minutes to complete. The ploy the site is banking on involves the user being so frustrated that they'll end up paying just to justify their time spent.

As a crypto enthusiast looking for projects to support this also negatively affects you. As their are a high chance that if a site is Paid, and their price structure & policies are not made publicly available, then the ratings themselves could be fake.

If a site has broken links, particularly if the button to submit a project is malfunctioning, then its a good chance the site is just a cash grab. Any site that takes themselves seriously would fix a malfunctioning submittal button within 24hrs. Not doing so is a good chance that the site is about to shut down.

Use your time wisely. Concentrate on free sites that have the most traffic, and then paid sites w/ transparent price structure. After that, concentrate on all of the free sites. Free is free regardless of traffic . Even if a site has no traffic it is a good idea to be listed anyhow. It will help your SEO.

- Expediting the Application Process -

Filling out all of these applications is not only time consuming, but also boring as hell. The entire process promotes burnout, and will eventually become something akin to a fever dream that you can't wake up from. To expedite the process create a spreadsheet w/ all of your projects information so that you can just copy and paste them when needed.

Also, most of the questions are all cross referenced in some way. Meaning, that it is very rare that after filling in a dozen application forms that you'll run into a question you have not already answered. So, in this regard, whenever you run into a new question copy it into your spreadsheet, and document your answer so it can be used as a future "copy pasta!"

That is the plan...it should be low effort if I just aggregate and update with all of the suggestions once a week. But, I feel it will be gradual, as people start visiting organically. Basically people can use this list like a "yelp."

Generating such database will require so much time and effort.
And getting as much info as you can is really tough especially the pricing part.
Most of those ICO listing sites don't really provide their prices. Now, we can see how much they are charging for every client.
And with so many ICO projects created everyday, no wonder, they are earning money so fast.
Just gave you a merit so hopefully you can rank up soon.

Wow this is very helpful for those who start up their ICO, a complete set of listing will be a great information here on forum. This post should be pinned on service section so they can see your database list. I highly appreciate the work you've done here. compiling and setting it up here is a good choice. I was feeling disappointing because too many of them are created for money. After I have seen the result of your work and I can take a conclusion if the only reliable site is only the one. Even there are some of them are charging penny to these ico to be listed on their site.
That's hurt man. This gives a huge knowledge for me to know about the truth of icorating site.

Trying to navigate listing sites is truly some of the most grueling, potentially burn out facing work I've ever encountered.

Damn, this is certainly a very complicated to do nice effort!! Anyway latoken & coinrail also provides ico listings and also the users can buy it on their exchange directly (I don't know how many the fee) but if it is possible it might be added to the list. Also if possible I would like to give advice to add two options such as free & paid simultaneously in the price column, Examples like icobench.

Wow! This is painstakingly done and deserves a lot of commendation. ICO listing websites as we've always known are commercial, charging varying sums for listings and reviews. This explains why some projects hyped on their site hits the front burner and looks like they're pinned to the front page, and with ICOs being churned out daily, these guys are making a killing.

I made this topic a little over 36 hours ago. I just check my private messages and I have several of the Listing Sites offering me "Good Reviews" for my project if I change their traffic numbers to something more desirable.

Now I'll do them the solid and re-check the traffic when I get a chance, and if it needs to be change I will change it. However, I have a feeling the majority of these are just bribes.

This says a lot about the status of the "listing industry"

ooo, maaan, how come that I didn't found this on google last week?... great job, KUDOS for every hour you spent on it!

when I googled week ago ICO Resources, ICO Listing, ICO Rating and ICO Review I found 69 other lists (https://omodex.com/blog/top-10-ico-resources-part-1-search/) except yours, and some of them were over one and half year old... I thought that is too painful to go through and keeping it all up to date manually. so I scraped links from those 69 pages, then scraped links from all referred pages, ending up with data from thousands of scraped pages. now I'm writing rules to categorize those links and identify meaningful relationships between them. aim is transparency aka ability to see what those sites provide, who's behind them and how they're connected within crypto eco system.

so YES, all it's worth it, however, it needs a community to help source, curate and rate to become up to date source of truth. and that's above ability of single individual to do it regularly and for long term...
