I think the world are getting ready for the electronic money, many countries start their research on the crypto and blockchain but they were more interested in the blockchain not the crypto, I still doubt big institutions ready to accept Bitcoin because there are still no clear explanation from government whether the government going to ban or adopt it
Electronic money is no longer a matter of viability, it is a matter of time. When a decade ago, perhaps it was thought the so-called unbanked and those living in broken or developing economies would again falter in adoption, we've now seen excellent use cases and prime success stories of alternative digital money: Mpesa in parts of Africa keeps springing to mind, where even without big internet networks, the affordability and widespread use of mobile phones have helped many people finally embrace and use e money in their daily lives, whether or not they truly understood how it works. That many of their users are still unbanked makes it even more special.
They didn't need big institutions to accept them, on the contrary they thrives because big banks ignored the needs of people. Bitcoin will find itself in the same situation.
