Digital currency is still a matter of controversy in several countries. The use of bitcoin in a country is not always accepted. Even so, there are also many countries that have legalized bitcoin as a currency. Here are some countries that have legalized bitcoin, namely:

1. United States
The US government has made special policies for tourists who will visit the region. Previously, existing regulations only required examination of social media accounts, but currently tourists are asked to show their digital currency. This new rule was initiated by Sen Chuck Grassley. The law was introduced on May 25, 2017.

2. Japan
The Japanese government has authorized bitcoin as a legal currency for digital transactions. This endorsement is marked by the number of retailers who accept payment with bitcoin. The number of stores that accept digital payments with bitcoin is more than 4,500 outlets.

3. Denmark
Denmark is a highly developed country in the field of technology. This is what makes this country legalize the use of bitcoin in various transactions such as transfers, payments, and purchases.

I still think, are there still other countries that accept to legalize the use of Bitcoin?

What is the fate of other countries if bitcoin is not allowed to be used?

Many countries study Bitcoin, but governments in their countries do not support it, although this is a progress known as the sophistication of network technology that facilitates transactions, I am very supportive if everyone understands their use.

Apparently the Netherlands is one country that does not want to miss the sophistication of Bitcoin technology. I am sure the Netherlands will be one of the countries that are advanced and ready to serve the complaints of people in meeting their needs.

Indeed, many people learn and explore bitcoin, but the government does not support and does not prohibit bitcoin to grow. So the community feels uninterrupted with that which is certainly an asset and is their own responsibility if anything happens to their wealth.

Whatever the OP is saying is right!! But the thing is there are still many countries which are yet to give a welcoming acceptance to the bitcoin. So that makes it a problem. Countries like Netherlands, US, Japan have always been highlighted due to their crypto-friendly behavior. But now as a matter of fact, it's time for other countries to come forward and take an initiative in this regard so that they also come into light. What's the point in highlighting these countries time and again. That's just the waste of time unless other countries learn from their example!!

US government we should consider that as a adoption and all. Maybe they are trying to control us via the bitcoin or some other cryptocurrencies.

As I know we people do not know the how the people and the cryptocurrencies have been evolved and being used mate.

I wish we should go with the Russian or Japanese government to get the better adoption and independent world without colonialism.

As long as US government not against Bitcoin, it will be OK. I hope US SEC will approve soon the Bitcoin ETF trading, it will be a big deal for cryptocurrency.

I'm glad someone mentioned the Netherlands here, they are definitely another country to be added to list. Also Belgium - just to begin with, they have so many bitcoin ATM's it's insane.

I still think, are there still other countries that accept to legalize the use of Bitcoin?

There are a lot of countries you missed such as Malta.

Imagine the President of Malta talking about crypto and blockchain in the world stage (UN Assembly).

What is the fate of other countries if bitcoin is not allowed to be used?

If countries chooses to go full anti-crypto then they're definitely loosing a lot of opportunity specially for their people to invest and make money out of the market. I still do believed that if regulations are put into place, more nations that's in the gray area right now will shift and support crypto's.  And besides there are ways to circumvent a total ban. So its really hard not for countries to at least regulate it as its this so called 4th revolution is unstoppable.

Totally agreed on this buddy, yes, countries who don't totally embrace crypto will miss the opportunity that brings on this great technology and for sure profit was there. We all know that there are some countries now still against bitcoin(crypto) and they hard to put regulation on it since it is decentralized. And hopefully, those countries hated crypto they will realize soo that it is a good opportunity and probably helping the economic growth.

The list is incomplete. I can immediately see that Germany, Canada and some countries of EU are missing. But there are more countries, so please read the below link from wikipedia,

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country_or_territory

Update your thread accordingly if possible!

I think what will change their mind is if they are seeing this crypto-friendly countries benefiting economically from the acceptance of cryptocurrency. They will have FOMO and will make them re-think their views to the cryptocurrency industry. This is not far from happening as countries will always want to have a piece of the pie. Also what I think would change this is if the United Nations somehow come up a international standard/law where all countries can finally based their legal framework on.

If it's legit that bitcoin will suffice the crypto friendly country, there's no problem about that. The country itself will have reliance despite of being decentralized of bitcoin. With respect to economic growth, as long as it helped the growing economy the united nations doesn't have any concerns about that, unless it puts the country to danger like engagement to a war.

I think G20 members is already drafting some kind or regulations or legal framework so we will have to see about that. But for me, we really don't need some global regulations, nations should self-regulated and I disagree with the idea of a single regulatory body. If country see's the full potential then they should go for it and not wait for world governing body to make decisions for them.

@Gaff - I really don't understand the war scenario though, would you consider trading war? I'll be happy to see your explanation specially about "country to danger like engagement to a war."

Countries that still prohibit crypto from developing will experience difficulties in the development of technology, the country will be poor in knowledge and also poor in knowledge. But that is their right, we are here trying to open the eyes of the world that crypto has many advantages and disadvantages that must be developed.
For developed countries and has acknowledged crypto will continue to grow and provide opportunities for people to work and be creative with technology so that many new inventions and coins appear so that the development of crypto is increasing and reaching its level.

Cryptocurrency is indeed run by technology, or the main factor inception of cryptocurrency is from current technological advances. However, we do not blame developing countries or give statements that developing countries lack knowledge of technology.

The other side that must be considered is that developing countries are still comfortable using money fiat, because most merchants in their country still rely on money fiat as a transaction system. As for adopting cryptocurrency, the government must rearrange a system they have done before and this will give a little longer. This is just a process, if they have analyzed cryptocurrency and technology in the future I am sure they will receive the cryptocurrency well.

Controversy comes up when the concern is in its peak growth. Few dig into it and adapt to it and few do not. Bitcoin has turned the currency market towards crypto.
