Sexual abuse happens a lot and not just in the Catholic Church. But what really disgusts me is how they treat said abuses. A lot of priests who are accused of sexual abuse are just sent to a different location. Some do not face their crimes. The RCC seem to kind of dismiss them in their own way. There really is no significant solution being done but just monetary compensation to the people who were abused. It's like, here's money, shut up.
That’s the problem and I blame the government as well, if a priest commits such a crime or sexual abuse, He is under the law and the law should deal with the Priest and not the Catholic Church. The Church only has jurisdiction in the Vatican and not the rest of the world.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Every week there is news about even more sexual abuse of children in catholic church and cover ups by many bishops.

It seems it is spread beyond comprehension, yet none of the abusers have been excommunicated and very few ended up in jail. They just get trasferred to another post somewhere!

I am so sick of hearing this and I expect someone to REALLY do something about this! Pope's apologies and condemnations are not enough!

These volnurable kids trusted in these people and so did their parents. Instead of being cared for and protected they ended up having their lives ruined.
Many innocents children are being victim of this sexual abuse that catholic church is the one of the suspects , mostly catholic priests are involved. Its a crime equal to rape and they must put to jail , and i think government should do the actions about this kind of situation where in catholic church also oppose some of the governments in most countries.

The problem with the Church is that they usually attempt to deal with these sorts of events internally, as they will typically settle with people (civilly) for a good deal of money to simply hush up. People don't seem to understand that this hush money really doesn't hold up against criminal charges -- or people take too long to even report these acts.

Plus, it's a VERY VERY VERY VERY tough thing to prove -- be it a month after the incident, or about 30 years after the incident. Unless there's some sort of genital fluids left that could be recovered -- and shown to be forceful -- then we're in a situation where it's a person vs person on who's lying and who's not, and that isn't something that Attorney Generals / District Attorneys, want to try to fight (and most likely lose) in court.

To poster above me, when a CHILD is concerned, it doesn't have to be forced to be criminal. A child does not have the capacity to consent. When a child i involved, it CANNOT be deemed as voluntary ever!

But I still believe that there are still many good people who commit sexual harassment, but it is undeniable that in this era of social media that has advanced this news quickly spread so unsettling, but naturally there must be more changes so that not many parents also become restless.
