Chainlock Activated: PirateCash Strengthens Protection Against 51% Attacks
At block 1498167, the PirateCash network achieved a significant milestone with the successful activation of SPORK_19_CHAINLOCKS_ENABLED. This update was made possible due to the growing interest in masternodes, which enabled the formation of the llmq_400_85 quorum.
What is Chainlock and why does it matter?
With Chainlock now active, the PirateCash network is protected against 51% attacks. Chainlock works by using a decentralized quorum of masternodes to confirm blocks almost instantly, preventing block reorganization and double-spending. This mechanism is similar to the one implemented in Dash, making the network significantly more secure.

The Role of the Community

We’re making significant changes to our bot following Telegram’s new blockchain policies (non-TON). Here's what you need to know:

Key Changes (Effective Immediately):

Internal Exchange Disabled: All orders canceled, balances updated.

Staking Orders Removed: Updated staking message.

What You Should Do by February 1, 2025:

Withdraw DOGE, BTC, and ZEC.

Set up a backup address in bot settings.

Consider transferring coins to a P.CASH wallet or any BEP-20 wallet (Metamask, TrustWallet, SafePal).

Important Dates:

January 27, 2025: Minimum amount in the bot increases to 1000 PIRATE (minimum for staking activation).

February 3, 2025: Staking service fee increases from 5% to 20%. Token staking conditions remain unchanged (3% activation from 100 PIRATE).

What If Telegram Blocks the Bot? (Worst-Case Scenario):

BTC/DOGE/ZEC will be converted to PIRATE at market rates.

Full deposits sent to your backup address (no BEP-20 transfer fees).

Additional Info:

Native coin deposits exceeding transfer fees will auto-convert to PIRATE and move to BSC (or to your backup native address).

wDASH and COSA tokens will follow a similar process (requires BEP-20 address).

This document defines how the Corsa decentralized messenger will be integrated directly into the PirateCash network and introduces new requirements for masternodes in upcoming core versions.

🧭 A Shift Beyond Payments

PIP-0001 represents more than a technical update. It marks a strategic shift in the role of the network.

Instead of functioning solely as validators of transactions and blocks, PirateCash masternodes are evolving into nodes of a decentralized communication layer. The integration of Corsa brings messaging capabilities directly into the infrastructure, laying the groundwork for a unified system where value transfer and private communication coexist.

⚙️ Three-Stage Implementation

🔹 Stage 1 — Local Requirements (v19)

Starting with PirateCash Core v19, masternodes must meet new configuration requirements:

• A masternode will not start unless the operator explicitly sets:

• RPC user
• RPC password
• RPC port

• A Corsa node must be running locally on the same server
  

At this stage, PirateCash Core performs only basic checks:

• verifies that the Corsa service exists
• confirms that it is accessible

Important:

• no service quality checks
• no relay validation
• no Proof of Service (PoSe)

This phase ensures operators deploy and enable the required infrastructure.

🔹 Stage 2 — API-Based Verification (v20)

With v20, the network begins verifying Corsa nodes via API using authenticated local RPC access.

The PirateCash network has reached a new milestone with the release of PirateCash Core v19.0.0, the first major version in the 19.x series. This update brings significant architectural improvements, enhanced performance, and lays the foundation for future network evolution.

🧠 Built on a Proven Foundation

PirateCash Core v19.0.0 is based on Dash Core v19.3.0, incorporating all features, fixes, and optimizations introduced across versions 19.0 through 19.3. These improvements have been adapted for the PirateCash network.

⚡ High-Performance Masternodes

A new masternode type has been introduced — High-Performance Masternodes (HPMN).
They are designed to support Platform-level services while maintaining existing responsibilities like ChainLocks and InstantSend.

With the v19 hard fork, the network now supports masternodes with 40,000 PIRATE collateral.

🔗 PIP-0001: Corsa Messenger Integration (Stage 1)

This release introduces Stage 1 of PIP-0001, integrating the Corsa decentralized messenger into masternode operations.

Masternodes must now run a local Corsa node, validated via authenticated RPC before activation.

🔐 BLS Scheme Upgrade

The network migrates to a modern BLS scheme aligned with IETF standards, improving signature handling, quorum validation, and future compatibility.

* Wallets are no longer created automatically on startup
* Existing wallets load as configured
* New wallets must be created manually (GUI / CLI / RPC)

* Removed legacy BIP61 reject messages

⚙️ Upgrade Instructions

If you are running an older version:

1. Shut down your node completely
2. Install v19.0.0
3. Restart and allow migration

On first launch, a database migration will run (up to ~30 minutes).

Downgrading below v19.0.0 is NOT supported without full reindex or resync.

🧩 Masternode Operator Requirements

PirateCash Core v22.1.4, based on Dash Core 22.1.3, is now available.

This is a mandatory update.

All previous PirateCash Core versions are incompatible with the main network.

Masternode owners and node operators must upgrade before MN_RR activates at block 1,910,840.

Key changes include:

• Encrypted P2P connections with BIP324 v2 support;
• Asset Unlock and withdrawal improvements;
• Masternode and quorum optimizations;
• New RPC features and wallet improvements;
• More stable synchronization and network connections;
• Proof-of-Stake and block-header handling fixes;
• General performance and reliability improvements.

How to upgrade:

Mandatory PirateCash Core v23.1.7 Update Released

PirateCash Core v23.1.7 is now available. This release ports PirateCash to the Dash Core v23.1.7 codebase and includes the applicable improvements from the entire v23 series.

This is a mandatory update!

All previous PirateCash Core versions are incompatible with the main network.

• Faster and more secure InstantSend, ChainLocks and quorum processing;
• Reduced InstantSend confirmation latency;
• Improved P2P network stability;
