Suggestions about Tech Related Projects for Middle School

I am currently in Senior High School and our group was assigned to make a research about tech stuffs and should make a working product about technology related products. There are bunch of results of DIY projects but it seems that it is very common and has no difference between the original products.

Why you don't try easy Science Experiment?
Here's list of Science Experiment you can do at home or school

- Baloon Rocket
- Volcano
- Growing Bacteria

I think this is too much, since do not have any basic knowledge about robotics.

Thank you for your suggestion but this is not appropriate for a research project. I am looking for a product that can be useful in the near future.
