Yes ! So many ICO is almost scam maybe out of 1000 ICO only 100 are legits and scam ICO's only produce ICO projects to gain fast income and fool someone to invest in result they lost their income and blame someone ! Crypto is too risky for investment because we cannot assure that the project is legit even if it is full of advertisements and community.. I really do not trust most of the ICO nowadays and maybe in the future almost 99% of ICO will be a scam .. If that will not be minimized in the future we will lost all investors and Crypto will be as good as a dead meat but scam ICO can be reduced or maybe zero left if these opinions of mine will be followed (it is only my opinion its up to you if you take on my advice):

1. Bounty Hunters and Crypto People must not support SCAM ICO's even if it will give you a good profit.
2. Government must strictly implement some rules & guidelines with ICO's to reduce SCAM and those SCAM ICO's will be penalized.
3. We need to be aware and promote clean ICO communities that will help the investors invest in Legit ICO's !
4. ICO's are like Movies, If we pirate it and support scam ICO's this will destroy legit ICO's and in result they will lost interest because LEGIT ICO's cannot produce capitals for them to be able to innovate their project more and more for the benefit of everybody
5. You yourself must be a CRITIC in every ICO's and advice anyone who might invest in that project for them to ignore it and will not result in lost of profit

So far there is no single tool to combat fraudsters. It is sad. It is worth choosing projects for advertising and investments. If it were so easy, investors would not be able to capitalize on this market. I would hope that the year 2019 will be positive for the entire cryptocurrency market.

It will still be good in the future. The market is not good so there are many bad ICO projects in operation. We should not invest in it now but wait for a better future to invest in it. When the market recovers, you will see that many good ICO projects will be in the market and you will have many high profit options.

I think it's time to make a platform using the blockchain technology which will be responsible for all aspects such as security, fundraising, payments and listing. It is desirable that inside the platform would have its own exchange. No project has yet been able to implement these tasks yet.

It is impossible to say that something unambiguous, as ICO became very popular and now investors are few because of the decline of the cryptocurrency market and also because of the large number of scams. If governments introduce laws that eliminate such a large percentage of scams and the market goes up again, the hype around the ICO will again lure new and old investors.

I got dual thoughts on this topic - ICOs can become just a part of history soon because those companies(teams) who provided ICO right in time collected money from the crowd while huge investors were afraid to invest in such unstable asset and now ICOs can transform to startups supported by business-angels only, not by crowd; on the other hand - maybe crypto is like dotcom story - now everyone uses internet. But in this case I don't know how developers will monetize it, but they will definitely do even if I don't know how

There are so many ICO swindling at present. Because the cost of fraud is very low. And it can make quick profits. This has a huge impact on people who invest in ICO. Now people's mindset has changed. People dare not invest in ICO anymore. I think introducing ICO into regulation. Maybe it can avoid fraud.

there is no indication that the market and the ico project will change. many hope that 2019 will improve, but this will not happen if there are no facts that affect this condition. everyone can hope so but I think it will be longer maybe 2020.

now i can see there are many ICOs scam, in my opinion before you join the ICOs,you should find out carefully about this, find out the community, the project that they selll, the white paper, the team of project, so then if they good you can join if not, forget them immediately.

It is sad to say that the condition of the ICOs were very bad and most of the projects have been postponed because of bull run so we can't say anything about the future of the ICOs for now maybe if the bull run comes everything can change in a matter of time so hoping that run will begin soon.

Yes there are too many scamy icos. But not every ico is scam. There are too many beautiful and promising project. Only important thing is you need to find these coins. Maybe you can see 150 icos but only 10 of them will be succesful. Because of that you need to choose right one for your investments.
I think icos will continue like that. Because that is  huge opportunity to developers and new technological inventions. We are provide funding to these guys and they can make miracles with that money.

Replaced by IPO? IPO has been existing and it is just a name for public offering which is similar to ICO in reality, except that ICO is opened to the whole world and in this case, it is digital. The thing I see happening in the long run, just like we have with IPO is to get to see the ICO space regulated. That is the future of ICO that I see, but nothing will stop it from still being an ICO anyway since in this case, you are offering your coin with a product at an initial price for investment purpose. Fraudulent activities have only been a thing because the space is not regulated.

ico projects will always be there as long as crypto is still traded, however innovation is the result of comparing bitcoin even though it is not uncommon for ico to be truly far from technology.

Not only as long as crypto is traded, but as long as new innovations and ideas keep popping up and as long as the ICO space is still in existence. The idea of ICO is to generate funds for a project to be able to push the product out there easily which is the reason we do due diligence before investing anyway, but in the long run, based on the fact that scam has been present for a while, I see a situation in which ICOs will become a highly regulated environment which depending on how that would come by is how we are going to get to see it in the future.
