Ethereum Creator, NYU Economist Go to War On Twitter, Mull Public Debate

Ever since Nouriel Roubini appeared before the United States Senate Committee On Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, to discuss cryptocurrencies – he has certainly been causing quite the commotion with regards to the cryptocurrency community.

This is not surprising, considering the famed economist shared several controversial statements about bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general, such as stating that “only criminals and terrorists use crypto”, and that “utility tokens take us back to the stone age”.  He has also taken specific aim at Vitalik Buterin on Twitter earlier this month, likening the Ethereum founder to a “dictator for life”.

Buterin responded sarcastically that he “officially predicts a financial crisis between now and 2021”.  This is clearly a reference to the fact that many credit Roubini with predicting the global financial crisis of 2008, for which he received the nickname “Dr. Doom”.

Roubini is a typical representative of classic economics science. He will never accept crypto.

Roubini is like traditional scientists who deny the possibility of voyages across the Atlantic Ocean, and
Vitalik is like Christopher Columbus who finally cross the Atlantic Ocean but also was wrong regarding distances and lands (he thought he is reaching Asia=)

A heated debate between two representatives of two completely different economical ideology. While Roubeni is a traditional thinker and will never accept any idea related to crypo, Buterin is the iconoclast who will work for the welfare of the crypto.

It has become normal that there are people with and against cryptocurrency. Roubini is someone who believes in the traditional economies and not what the digital economy cryptocurrency offers in general and thus shows in his debates and his views on the matter. This is indeed stirring up some contraversy but there will be always conversy in general on the matter as some people will be against it and others won't. With time we can hope that this mentality will change in the future to come.

Of course Rubini is an well educated and witty one, but that doesn't mean he can't be conservative. He stated his opinion about crypto and he is right according to his ideology and stats. Also, the crypto is right to from their perspectives of potentiality. So it's just a matter of time to see which will be the winner.
