Tried to upgrade to copper membership. Did I get scammed?

So, I just joined a few days ago and thought I paid to upgrade to a copper membership. That was the 13th of this month and my account isn't reflecting it. I found the link to upgrade on another thread, which I can't find now. How do I know if I sent it to the right place and/or how long should it take for my payment to take effect and my account to be upgraded?

My recommendation is that you be very careful, read all the necessary guides to learn how to participate in the Bitcointalk forum.

Did you double check if you actually sent it to the right address? Head back to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote and check using a blockchain explorer if you sent the right amount and to the right address. It could take time for your account to be updated, but I don't think it should take 5 days.

After sending the coins, you will need to go to the same page and follow the instructions to “complete” the rank upgrade. Did you do that?

You can check one thing,

Go to this page and compare the address there with the address you send coins to.

If there is no difference in the addresses then you have successfully purchased a copper membership the only thing left is to activate it on your profile, as TryNinja said, just follow the instructions on the page.

If the addresses do not match then you have been scammed.
Every account have a unique address to send the payment to which doesn't change with the time.
