Suggestion Needed: where I can get free images to be used in writing.

Hi All.

I am recently interested in writing and I noticed almost every article has some kind of image in it.
As far content is concerned, I am confident that I am able to create it but I am stuck with the image part. My research told me that there is lot of sites that offer free images or in subscription basis. Is it ok , if I use these free images?  or any other better option exist?

I will be writing as  amateur (not as professional,so will not like to throw some bucks.) My targeted platform is most likely Steemit or Medium.

Do you guys have anything to suggest me in this regard?

It all depends on the project/company you're writing articles for, as the images have to correspond with their project or ICO..

So you simply Google Images of the project over the internet,you can simply type their name up, so many present and past images would come up, so you'll just save them up...Previous articles written by others would also pop up, you just save as much image as you want.

So when making your own very article,you simply insert the images at strategic points you feel correlates with the text you've written above it, that way your article looks neat and presentable,it also shows you spent quality time coming up with something..

If you download from Google than it could be copyright claim. There are so many free stock image website. You could use them without any copyright claim. Just simply you can search on Google for such as image website. Since you are not using it officially, I believe you can use Google image easily. No one will claim(IMO). I noticed even lot of proffesional or official website using Google image. So I don't think this is big deal.

Coyster has presented a wonderful way to catch yourself in the middle of copyright infringement, trademark violations and plagiarism. If you are searching for free images, there are tons of royalty-free images that you can use; that means to say that allow the free usage of their artwork/images without copyright claims against you. there are certain people willing to allow the usage of their content freely, and there are those that are not. Simply find an image that is of free-use, royalty-free or has an "open" copyright.

No, I am not interested in writing ICO topic.  To be more precise I will like to write something like this.

I am not spending time in creating 1000 word article ,just putting currently 100 -150 words  to check if there is any target audience.  I think 250 word article + image will help me to explore the domain without wasting too much of effort.

You mean royalty-free stock photos?

My go-to are Pexels[1] and Pixabay[2]. If you're looking for bitcoin/cryptocurrency related stock photos though, the choices here are going to be limited. Most good ones are paid ones, mostly from Shutterstock[3].

When I was still studying and making various print ads, we usually just get photos from pixabay or you can just search for other website in google that can give you free stock images.

But for amateur writing I suggest that you just go out there and shoot your own photos. That way you have the creative freedom to do what you want and get what you need.

On internet, there are too many images which are free to use, even for commercial purpose. Search on google with your keyword and filter in advance search option. You can filter with various option like free to use for commercial/non commercial purpose. I think this is the best way to get images pver internet.

Definitely add images as it makes the article visually appealing! But improper usage could make it dull and meh

My advice is be sure to pick an image that really correlates to the content, if you know the saying (meme) on the internet called "images you can hear" you'll get what I mean cause I believe readers are supposed to feel something about it.

Secondly, don't use an image that reeks of "this is a stock photo", precisely these: One l Two. You can also tweak the pics a bit to make it to make it a little different from the others since a lot of ppl use stock images, nothing too fancy tho, less is more!

And regarding the licensing, every site I encountered has stated what you can do and can't with their pics so be sure look for that info first before using them! Some may not require you to edit and some may require you to give credits first etc.. There's lots of articles out there that lists sites where you can get them, just google/bing.

Most popular websites for photos is Shutterstock and 123rf. But it's not free and as you said you're not looking for paid options. There are quite many free alternatives to these websites, but many of them have very limited number of photos to offer. Especially it may be difficult to find crypto related images. Here are few articles where free Shutterstock alternatives are listed, maybe you will find something useful:

I suggest not to take photos from Goigle images, especially if you need it for commercial needs.

i think you should google different images related to your topic and then you should make your own by taking ideas from those images as it won't disturb the copy right policy aswell.
