Could be, or maybe they are already in the works of creating their own exchange? We don't know, and most likely most people won't care at all. If they are to switch over to SegWit, the thing is they will not be the first to do so, thus this will not make it anything special (but somewhat important). My likely guess is a crypto exchange, or another branch of their services. Don't tell me you haven't heard that the blockchain.com is doing an airdrop. They're simply given away their customers some few coins for their support, that's all So is this another ICO? If so, that would be a shame, I'm expecting something big from them but never an altcoin of any sort. It would also be quite ironic for them to create one knowing that their explorer is focused on bitcoins, not any other altcoins. Edit: added something, browser immediately submitted my post lol

funny you mentioned SegWit here. recently i found out that a while ago they have already implemented the new cashaddress format for bitcoin cash in their wallet which is basically the same format as bech32 addresses but they have not yet implemented anything of SegWit

Our next big thing is small.
So, it's not going to be an exchange or anything that would be considered "big". Maybe some kind of hardware wallet?

Yeah, well, I'm gonna go build my own blockchain. With blackjack and hookers! In fact forget the blockchain.

Wait what the hell? I wasn't expecting much but this is a lot lamer than what I was expecting. Is this really the one though? funny you mentioned SegWit here. recently i found out that a while ago they have already implemented the new cashaddress format for bitcoin cash in their wallet which is basically the same format as bech32 addresses but they have not yet implemented anything of SegWit Well that's something. Do you think it's just because blockchain.com is more biased towards BCH? or is it just that implementing the SegWit format is significantly harder(if there's actually a difference)? Our next big thing is small.
So, it's not going to be an exchange or anything that would be considered "big". Maybe some kind of hardware wallet? Was initially thinking of something along those lines too.

It's not about an airdrop/ICO from Blockchain.com itself. But it will partner with some ICO projects. I suppose by distributing the coins on behalf of the ICO campaign. At least it's what I understand. Blockchain will do the due diligence for people (more lazy they can be so) and can serve as an authority in a near future. Most ICO will beg to partner with blockchain.com hehe Blockchain.com also notes that airdrops can benefit crypto creators by facilitating decentralization. Crypto teams usually allocate their tokens to internal groups, partners, and public sales. But by distributing tokens freely via an airdrop, creators can ensure that their coin is spread far and wide. As the paper notes, each cryptocurrency becomes more useful as more people gain access to it.
The paper outlines a number of guidelines that Blockchain.com will follow in order to decide which coins to partner with Although Blockchain.com will curate reputable tokens and airdrop them directly to users, airdrops are not safe from scams

Long tried to penetrate but did not understand. They will release a separate wallet or you need to have Bitcoin Core installed or will the same Ledger be enough? I saw the news a few days ago, but did not understand anything.

Maybe some kind of hardware wallet?
"Our next big thing is small."yes... I got a feeling this has something to do with hardware wallet that 'small' reminds me of hardware wallet which usually quite small in the size of usb the countdown timer shows 5days 22hours... so we still have plenty time for guessing games

I have just subscribed on the page to get the information once the countdown stops. There are lot of speculation going on the next big thing that blockchain.com is going to be announced. Let us try some as well.
1. Blockchain is going to introduce the support for ERC tokens. 2. Blockchain will implement segwit 3. Blockchain will add support and a separate platform for ICOs and airdrops
The first one looks really prominent to me but this is just a speculation. Lets wait for 6 days to know exactly how big the news will be!!

That's enough to be called "BIG" because they will stand to verify ICOs projects and also will act as anti-scam soldiers for the bounty hunters which to me will be awesome to have such in place; as we are currently facing a lot of challenges in this regard. Waiting patiently to see for myself!!!!.

SegWit (Lol) I do not think Roger Ver will allow them to do, it's one of the best ways to keep the fees low. The same applies to the hardware wallets; their technical support is terrible so they will not do that process. The best guesses would be:
- Support for ERC tokens: I think that's what will happen. - ICOs: as members mentioned.

Great, Looks like tempting, so after what I've seen, blockchain will create a framework for airdrop programs. so later if this development has been completed it is likely that there will be a new channel on how airdrop will run, which of course this will benefit developers and participants

They also said that their "next big thing is small" As other members said maybe they are referring to the airdrop they will make. Let's hope it will not be really "small" or it will be a real disappointment.

The news is all about the block chain.com airdrop to loyal customers and have nothing to do with the bitcoin/cryptocurrency network in general may be block chain.com want to Launce their own token and at that want to spread the information by offering airdrop free tokens to their customers.

This keeps on confusing me and now that I've got some suggestions coming from all of you, this is interesting. The top guesses: 1. An airdrop / ICO 2. Hardware wallet If that's an airdrop, I guess those who submitted their email to get notified will receive their tokens.

SegWit (Lol) I do not think Roger Ver will allow them to do, it's one of the best ways to keep the fees low.
That's what I am thinking as well. If you look at how quickly they implemented Bcash, you'll realize how much of an important factor he is when it comes to deciding blockchain.com's economical roadmap. He said in an interview that he invested in blockchain when they were operating at home, so you can imagine how Roger by far is the largest shareholder. In other words, they definitely won't be rolling out SegWit support. It's sad though, especially with how they promised to roll out SegWit support this year. It wouldn't surprise me if they skip SegWit entirely. It's Roger pulling the strings not blockchain itself.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.
