The big thing is already out, It's bitcoin Cheesy These are just promotional tactics used to lure in more people to sign up for their wallets, Remember that an online wallet is extremely risky to use, They could potentially take all of the coins and run away if they chose to trick people and steal their coins, It would be really easy for them to do that. Hardware wallet? You don't really need a hardware wallet because one way or another you're gonna go online and send or receive bitcoins.
Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

SegWit is probably one of those things that we won't see on blockchain.com for years. possibly similar to other things lacking from their platform. their focus has never been development but making profit.

as some others said it seems more likely to be ICO related and its about time they got involved with ICOs since they already have ETH and as one of the big companies they don't dislike making money! and ICO is free money from gullible people, whether they run their own ICO or only work with crap ICOs to give them some sort of legitimacy so they can scam bigger and they get paid for this service, won't matter. they will get paid nonetheless.

I saw this on Google ads too and was like we are waiting but the new thing should be a very big thing that must be new in cryptocurrency ecosystem , and on not implementing the segwit but working on bch wallet could be a bias idea but I know they won't be cause if their image in crypto.

Roger Ver are rumoured to have a huge influence and investment in Blockchain.com, so I would expect that he would be pushing for something that are linked to BCash.  Roll Eyes

I think they might partner up with a large exchange and change their business plan, like Circle did a few years ago. They might even make BCash their default coin.  Roll Eyes

A Trezor or Ledger partnership would be a positive move.  Tongue

Roger Ver has plans to launch its own trading platform and make Bitcoin Cash (BCH) their base currency, (https://blockonomi.com/roger-ver-exchange/). And it also says that he is looking for partner or something but I'm not sure if he has tied up to Blockchain.com to create this new exchanges from ground up.

I think we need to wait 6 more days to know for sure what Big is Coming.

Whatever it is, hopefully it will benefit us.
And just like everyone guesses, it will soon supported erc20 token based and more likely become a multi wallet.
Maybe a coinomi inspired wallet.

Could be a bounty program together with airdrop and ICO. If true there will be a record number of participants, probably not even worth joining but I'm sure they still will.

I doubt it.

I really can't imagine how people would join an ICO (people still buy shitcoins and tokens ? really?) made by a web wallet (i am still wondering how people can be that uneducated to use an online wallet).

Webwallets need to be abandoned. And i am sure this will happen. But it will take some more time.

I think the few people who lost money through all of these vulnerabilities which do only exist in web wallets, are not enough to scare the whole userbase.

But i am confident that the day will come where some smart mind will make use of all of these naive user trusting web wallets.

Many people will cry, a few will be richer. But hopefully these people will learn that using an online wallet is the most retarded thing to do (besides leaving coins on an exchange).

I'm pretty sure that if they end up doing something with ICO's, it will definitely not be fueling Ethereum, but BCash. Roger is known to eliminate or block that what grants its closest competitors more economical power, and for that exact reason he will not mess around with Ethereum and other coins.

For those who follow BCash 'development' lately, it's clear that one of their highest priorities right now is to have ICO's and other applications be hosted and built on top of BCash. ViaBTC raised $30 million (very likely that most of these funds were coming from Bitmain, lol) with it's ICO on top of BCash, and I'm sure that that more will follow. He also said that he expects BCash to have a higher market cap than Ethereum, so we'll see where this goes.

They promised to deliver SegWit by 2018 Q1 or Q2 If I remember correctly. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but as long as Roger ver is an investor there, they're really not going to do something that benefits the bitcoin community in general so It's very unlikely to be SegWit, my guess is that it would be an exchange.

Quote

blockchain.com via Twitter: "Something "big" is coming"
Which translated into layman terms will probably come down to the following;

"We've thought of another idea to squeeze as much money as possible out of you fools still using our outdated, limited, web wallet. Stay tuned!"

Blockchain.com must cost a ton of money to be kept working, servers et al, while they don't really have any business model at all..?

It's primary function right now is to serve as a beaconing tool to show how ''shitty'' bitcoin is, by not implementing segwit, RBF. I neither would be surprised if they're trying to push BCash even harder somehow.

That's a nice way to launder money. ICO-"washtrade-esque" it.  Roll Eyes

I hope it's Segwit. I hope Bull returns with Segwit. I hope that the market will continue to rise as well as every November. I just have hope.

With the slow support they have, you'll probably receive a reply when It's too late, so better wait for the countdown.
