can anyone sync wallet.... I am having trouble with it...... Have 0 connections

Add those nodes:

addnode=88.151.74.11
addnode=23.97.132.124
addnode=37.187.200.117
addnode=192.227.251.74
addnode=162.243.84.18
addnode=23.249.161.106

added, even made a fresh wallet on other pc and still nothing

Sometimes I need to restart the wallet and everything is working. At this moment I have 3 active connections and the wallet is synced.

P.S. The only pool for FAIL that is working now (as far as I know) is https://www.minep.it/pools/21/

this is how my failcoin.conf looks like:

rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=rpcpass
port=44557
rpcport=44556
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
daemon=1
listen=1
server=1
addnode=88.151.74.11
addnode=23.97.132.124
addnode=37.187.200.117
addnode=192.227.251.74
addnode=162.243.84.18
addnode=23.249.161.106
addnode=162.243.84.18
addnode=23.249.161.106

anything wrong here?

This is my conf, never had a disconnect:

rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=rpcpass
port=44557
rpcport=44556
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
daemon=1
listen=1
server=1
addnode=162.243.84.18
addnode=192.227.251.74

I really have no clue what is going on.... have 3 wallets, one on desktop, one on laptop, one on work and neither of them work for some time

Anyone have any knowledge on how to setup a block explorer. We will be looking at this over the next few weeks, any help will be appreciated.

I would do it but don't have the time unfortunately. I think you should look at the open source block explorer here:
https://github.com/bitcoin-abe/bitcoin-abe

I guess it will just need the config to be tailored to FAIL but it shouldn't be too complicated I wouldn't think.

I am perusing for new coins and ran across this one just now.

My question is: did it fail yet?

bgmc,
Nope, FAIL hasn't failed yet :O) There will always be a few of us keeping it alive.

Thanks minep.it team,
I'll take a look at the block explorer code and see if I can make any sense of it.

Neverminds17,
I too had difficulty syncing my FAIL wallet, but once I made my failcoin.conf file and put it in the right place, the wallet synced as expected. I would confirm your failcoin.conf file is named correctly, in the right place and contains the nodes listed below.

Spartak_t,
Again, great job on the logo :O) Epic!

I'm thinking about making a gambling site that accepts FAIL and a few other coins. I also have a team of devs looking into a trading site that will allow people to trade coins of different types, like coin-swap.net. It won't be a full on exchange, just a safe, easy way to trade coins without the fear of getting ripped off.

I'm also thinking about lurking around some of the existing fail pic sites and offering fail to the epic fail posters. However, after they download a wallet, it won't work, since the nodes need to be manually updated in the conf file. We really need to be able to update the nodes on the first page.

I am also currently looking at the code for the block explorer, thanks for the link minep.it. I do think if a good team is created for this coin it will go far, I would like to see it used on Fail sites (Websites with videos of fails on for example) as a tip system -the better / more views the video the more FAIL tipped for example.

Hey batesresearch,
We could start offering FAIL on existing fail sites. Tell them if they get a wallet, we'll tip them with FAIL. We can even contact the site owners and get them on board?
The only problem would be that the prospective FAILers' wallets won't work unless they know to add nodes using the failcoin.conf file. Getting a site up and running would help. We could then explain how to add nodes to the wallet conf file and also give instructions on how to mine (or where to mine) FAIL. The link back to minep.it would also help the guys at minep.it.
Also, does the code for the block explorer (referenced by Minep.it team) work with script coins. It mentioned block chains for bitcoin, so I wasn't sure. I've coded in the past, and am willing to help wherever possible.

I like the idea. They may arrange contests and award people for best FAILs with FAILs. Smiley I am ready to donate too.

spartak_t,
Cool. I'll start looking for cool fail sites tonight, and post that we're willing to offer fail if they provide a wallet address.

Hi,

Did you find any sites? I googled Fail video sites a while back and emailed them about FAIL but had no reply(I can create a list of everyone I emailed if you like). I think if we work together we can create a template text we can send out but I think where I went wrong was not providing enough detail and having a website off them to visit. As I said we bought failcoin.co.uk and will probably host the site on that, pointing readers of the email proposal to separate pages on that site for the wallet/helping setting up etc.

be sure to add 'token expired' over and over again for the pool. Because it's always fun to add that nice long password by hand over and over till your hands 'fail'.

Hey spartak_t,
My wallet is still syncing. Here's my conf:
rpcuser=user1
rpcpassword=rpcpass1
port=44557
rpcport=44556
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
daemon=1
listen=1
server=1
addnode=88.151.74.11
addnode=23.97.132.124
addnode=37.187.200.117
addnode=192.227.251.74
addnode=162.243.84.18
addnode=23.249.161.106
I don't know which are good and which are bad, but I'm syncing with this...

Hi Hey batesresearch,
There are a LOT of fail sites on the net. I'll send a few messages to the sites and see if we can generate some interest.

Just a little update:

- Looking at finishing a very basic website off this week and having it up and running by weekend
- We will be creating 2 dedicated nodes (One in the UK one in the USA)
- On the website we will be providing download links to an edited zip FailCoin file with a updated conf file inside and instructions on how to use
- Later next week to any new wallets we will be offering 1 Mill per new user giveaway

The pool https://www.minep.it/pool/fail is still up and running - Thanks minep.it <- A link to this will be provided in the newly created zip.
