What are some things to look out for with the latest ICO's?

I think an escrow system along with a distributed exchange network would make new altcoins worth the investment. (you could buy and sell coins without needing an exchange)

These things take a lot of the risk out of crypto transactions and are pretty much required for widespread use.

What do you think?

Proper details about their product.
Realistic claims.
Perks of having their product.
Blockchain they are using.
Difference between their product and existing product.
The think tank behind it.
Risk Factors, etc.
What ever they provide should make sense to you and you should double check on them on Twitter, FB or other social medias.

I think the recent ICO needs to consider the following aspects:

1. Technical direction of the project. technology roadmap

2. Team strength. Integrity of team members.

3. Code quality.

4. Social updates. Is the community strong?

5. The marketing of the project.

When I first entered the space, the use of Escrow reputable one are being used alot in the space but that seems to be a thing of the past, now what you see is that team have conflicting opinion of what should be the end goal of the project. A legit project should have a strong team, reputable partners with direct links to them and the announcement of this partnership, reasonable hardcap and also realistic timeline and at least an MPV

Some of the best traits of legit icos are transparency, they are always open with their investors and always want them to know what they are doing since they have nothing to hide. The scam icos usually do not have a face behind their projects and there is no way that the coins are going to have a good product behind them, so look for the faces

Well, of course that's a wonderful demand which is needed, but also, it won't be that easy to apply. Cause crypto still isn't a part of the national or international approved coin that it might go on without any exchanging. It is kind of a private one still which can't go on without the help of the investors.

Yes, this is the future direction of ICO. When the government launched its own coin, some laws on cryptocurrency were the next step, so I think this is correct. But the current legal ICO may be very difficult to find, which is a bit different from the current cryptocurrency and may lose encryption.

I think the plan and roadmap of the project and community are the traits to look for. Then comes the team behind the project. Transparency and communication with users should be the best quality of a project.

There are plenty of things to look out for while investing in an ICO. The major ones are, Technical know-how of the team working behind the ICO, Team commitments up until now and last but not the least, the legitimacy of the project.

The main trait is a competent team doing all the hard work and showing proof of it before they even consider launching an ICO. There has to be a serious project already on the table.

Of course, the legit ico will always to publish anything related to the development of project to keep the transparency. In fact that a lot of people are very smart in these days. Just like that the legit ico will always try to publish anything that has needed by the investors.

One of the things I have noticed when it comes to legit ICOs is that they are very transparent when it comes to their projects and the things that they are working on, they want you to know what they are doing so you can know where and what your money is going into. Scam icos are always very sneaky and trying to hide the fact that they are not actually working on the coin

The most important thing is to check the whitepaper and the team. Moreover, I always look at the roadmap, it should be realistic, as well as the whole whitepaper. However, the team members should also be real people.

Those traits include having a team with good public track record and great experience in the industry. It is also important that you read the whitepaper and see that what they're proposing is indeed feasible.

In terms of legit ICO, you meant those ones that will not end up becoming a fraud. In that case I will suggest the following;

Management – I take a look at the Linkedln profile of the team managing the project or running the company; if they have a Blockchain and whether the team has good reputation. Making a good assumption based on what the team can provide will be of help.
A team that is not experienced in blockchain, will list advisers, so check the quality of the advisers, whether they will have a huge impact on the project in question.

GITHUB account - searches up the Github and see if they come up. Most top quality blockchain projects have Github account and make their code open source for people to review

Social media channel - The community is very important. Check their bitcointalk page, their facebook if they have one, their twitter, their
Medium block channel, and their youtube page. Check for comment, quality of
their presentation, product review on youtube by well know reputable people
in the crypto community.
Tech - Will the technology be the type that will be disruptive. Is the value proposition, be the type that people will adopt in a few years, based on the solution it is providing. If it is not, drop it

Competitor – Do they have competition? If they do, what competitive advantage do they have?

These and some other factors based on your personal reviews will be of great help.
