I just got my Newpac up and running. Simple setup, especially since this is my first time. I'm doing an average of 40 Gh/s set at 175.00 MHz with a fan on it. My USB hub arrives tomorrow and I plan to buy three more on ebay plus another fan. Here's a pic of my stats:

Awesome Nostawft! And welcome to the club!

just got mine in, just started testing but have 3 newpacs running @ 350 MHz
using Sipolar 10 Port 5V 20Amp USB hub: https://www.eyeboot.com/sipolar-10-port-usb-hub.html

average speed is approx 70 GH/pc, very stable, no zombies, and this is with 0 v.core tweaking. these can go a lot faster.
just make sure you are using fans or some sort of cooling system...

Update

Now running @ 500MHz for over 110 GH per miner!!!

NEWPACs are available for order now, in-stock over here:

https://www.419mining.com/shop/cables/gekkoscience-7-port-base-hub/
make sure you get a power supply for them as well.
We currently have 7A hubs in stock, while you cant max out 6 sticks at at 650Mhz, it should get you up there. As soon as we finish our testing, i can post more specifics.

9A would be idea, but make sure you get good quality. or run on a 6pin computer power supply.

Is 3 newpacs the maximum for this hub? If not then what's the maximum?

The GekkoScience Hub max's out at 6 overclocked sticks, depending on the power supply. the Plugable 7 port is 3 overclocked.

2-1/2 GS Hubs full of all Newpacs running nicely at 500Mhz. Using the Sipolar power packs to supply 12v and 10a, seems to be working just fine. Hopefully 10a is better than being under 9a on these hubs. I am still working on finding the right fan setup utilizing the 12v pins, suggestions?

Are the 12v fan pins on the side sharing anything with the usb ports or is it on its own?

Love these hubs btw, can't wait to fill these last 8 ports!

The fan pin is coming straight off the 12V input. On the newer version of the hub (which isn't shipping yet) it's backed by a 2A fuse just in case, but there's no voltage regulation anywhere on the fan pin.

Cool, quiet and up to 1TH pod miner, on sale now!

ok, just wanted to make sure I wasn't taking any power from the ports. The fuse will be nice, perhaps I should have waited before getting all of mine, lol.

I admit I know nothing of how these usb boards are put together but I have a question about future development.

How hard would it be to add a jumper for the option to:

  • tell the hub that the fan is required on the pins (prolly need 3 pins for next part)
  • If the fan stops or slows below x then shut down the hub

Probably too much to ask or add but would be a nice piece of mind feature.

Thank you again for the awesome work.

A slightly more advanced version (there'll be different levels of features on different models) will have similar capability so it might not be too hard to put that in there as well.

"next" -> "finally"
Hub stuff is a long-overdue project Novak and I came up with sometime in 2015. Wish I'd gotten around to it long before now, with all the wrangle people have gone through trying to line up good hubs for my sticks for the last few years.

Additionally, I know a lot of folks are low on stock but the next batch of NewPacs started manufacture today so they'll be available from your favorite sellers before too much longer.

Latecomer to this thread, and never considered starting something like this but got a kid wondering and wandering about with my stuff. Would love to get him to start assembling looks relatively simple but probably will only settle later for a place where the whole shindig's available from 1 place (plus maybe would be nice to wait for BTC to recover a little).

I was overthinking my L3 cooling project.

Pulled the BB off the controller and plugged it in and the fans stay running at 70-80% I'm guessing. The L3 fans are very quiet compared to S9's in the shop.

The temperature on the exhaust is holding at 75F and the ambient temperature in the room is 73F. Need to get a laser thermometer for more accurate readings.

I have 7 NewPacs at 200MHz - 860mV on the newest VH release and I'm averaging 452gh/s.
https://i63.tinypic.com/35k0flz.jpg
https://i64.tinypic.com/2el4fpx.jpg

My small GPU rig is only utilizing the 24 pin and 4 molex connections to the fans on the rig from the PSU. I'm using one of the PCI-E connections to power the L3 controller. The GPU's and risers are all powered by an APW3++ making it much quieter in the house. The Linux machine is running the cgminer session.

The whole setup is connected to a pair of APC 1000's just like most the other computers in the house.

Now "WE" feel comfortable leaving these running 24/7.

Now that I have GS hubs for all my NewPacs I have removed the controller board from the equation and plugged the fan directly into the pins on the hub. Guess I just need to wait a bit for Sidehack and Novak to "finally" produce the hubs they have been wanting to produce.

I've started using 2PAC and seems working fine and now thinking of buying more NewPAC sticks.

Definitely it's difficult to find a BTC block while heavy ASICs are running over the world.

@sidehack, do you think BM1387 can handle input data more than 80 bytes (of BTC header) with modified cgminer?
I mean my question is for example an alt coin uses sha256d of 84 bytes (same as BTC but with an extra 4 bytes comes before "nonce"). Then can NewPAC be useful?
I cannot figure out whether it is possible that BM1387 is completely fixed on 64 bytes (midstate) + the rest 16 bytes or is it possible (you might know) to set some flag and accept (let's say) midstate + 20 bytes rather than 16 bytes.

Please forgive me if this is rather odd question but try to find out a good use of this NewPAC.

Try not to destroy these. I recommend leaving the voltage stock and using a fan.
