You rank up to Junior by getting one merit (will probably be very hard for you). Alternatively, you can buy a Copper Membership. You won't be a Junior Member until you get the one merit but you'll have most of the benefits of one (post images and a bigger signature etc).

We can file this one under the stupid poll thread.

Personally, all I can say is that

You will earn merit on the most unexpected circumstances.

I am just replying earnestly to the posts of other people and lo and behold, I get my very first merit.
All I remember that time is I am just being sincere in giving a helpful reply and not minding if I will earn a merit or not.  I am just really want to help the OP of that post that time and never expected to gain a merit.

Hence, I just want to advise you just continue pursuing your growth in knowledge by reading and helping others in return.  
I think if this will be your focus then you will gain something better than ranking up and gaining merits?

I never understood why people sometimes include a poll in threads where having one makes no sense.  Having an idiotic poll in a thread like this one just makes it doubly stupid.  OP will make a great addition to the forum, I'm sure.

I wonder why those people, who direct newbies for easy profit, don`t mention that bitcointalk doesn`t give out money to everyone here: they need to be earned so that participants need to meet the forum requirements and follow the rules. Or maybe newbies are so excited and overwhelmed with the thought of easy money that after this phrase they don’t hear anything at all ... It turns out that conditions for reproduction of spam are created not only by bounty campaigns, but also by such “agitators” who lure newbies but don`t give them important information without which they won`t be able to raise their precious rank. And then these newbies create such useless threads, and become very surprised when it turns out that you need to write something valuable to be read and appreciated.

Your very first post is you are newbie and you want suggestions for ranking up your profile. I don't think this gonna help help you. You can't ask such silly questions. This is the most asked question so far. First go through the rules and regulations of the forum. Most often newbie like you post irrelevant and unnecessary comments and post and get banned. After that beg pardon for being newbie. Forum is now strict about the rules. First go through the rules then search your queries in the search bar. If these don't help then ask constructive questions.

I can't comment at all OP. All I can say is that you are not alone and many of us here newbie would like to get one but do not lose hope. We are still in the process of learning a lot on this forum. I bet you should start now reading a lot before posting. I once get reprimanded of some good users here for shit posts also. LOL

There was another nonsensical OP on Beginners & Help this morning (Bitcoin Goal), with a similar pattern: a really wacky poll with two options that are totally incoherent, and a short OP. It may or may not be the same guy/bot, but the common factor is somewhere in the line of "I have bloody no idea what I’m doing".

Bots can at least have the excuse of not being able to pass the Turing Test, but what beats me is that, if not a bot, then there are humans that are incapable of surpassing a bot like equivalent in IQ...
