14 hours and hash rates are rock steady. Some are even higher than original recorded HR prior to install. Now just have to check the draw at the wall. See if it's lower. I think they've got this one well in hand.

24hrs + no problems
no hash rate drop 650+ s9s were transferred.
s9i so far so good

The firmware update is not for the S9i. While it won't hurt it, you are gaining nothing by running this FW on the S9i.

Hash rate is good but still a lot HW errors. Will try and check draw tomorrow.

The new fw is OK
Hashrate is above 13.5 with the new 20181102 firmware  ,  after 12 hours on 3 atminer s9
Hw error is not a problem - 8 / 8 /14
not mesured but many people say Asic Boost reduce consumtion with 1 Amper = 220 w

Happy as well with the firmware upgrade, seems hashrate is up on average 0.1-0.3 and electricity consumption down by about 12-18%.
No problems so far.

Been running the latest version for around 40hours – looks OK.
Applied the asic boost patch to 13.5 and 14 TH/s S9s - mostly on top of the autofreq firmware and a few on the fixed freq firmware – previous firmware features / settings all retained – including a few custom ones I’d tweaked on the fixed freq devices.  Haven’t tried any S9i’s – will wait for Bitmain to release this.
Haven’t scientifically logged the individual miner hash-rates or amps, but from the circuit PDU power meters etc I am seeing the following:

1.   No gradual speed decline with this version – stable for over 40 hours.
2.   Greater than 10% power saving.
3.   Good temps – no obvious change – a few degrees less than the “unboosted” S9i’s so might be running a fraction lower?
4.   Noise – subjectively appears to be less – didn’t check before / after with a decibel meter – fan speeds appear to be a few 100s rpm lower.
5.   HW error all showing 0.0000% so far – so no obvious change.  All devices and boards are very similar i.e. 55 to 65 errors per S9 after 40 hours so around 1 error per board every 2 hours at 70 degrees c.
6.   Hash rate is consistently at least equal to what the device should be and possibly 0.1 to 0.2 more i.e. around 13.65 and 14.15 TH/s.
7.   No damage during the numerous firmware flashes over the past week but did get the following 2 “funnies” – resolved by reboots.
a.   One hash board showing 0 hash rate with all chips showing good.
b.   One board dropped to around 50% again with all chips allegedly good.
8.     The scoring hash-rate stability is reflected on Slushpool stats - i.e. overall HR is no longer slightly fading over 48 hours and appears to be around 0.8% up (overall including some unboosted S9is).

hi,
I have my miners on pdu's with metering.
Today, i switches some to the new lpm firmware. They are running okay, and my mining area is environment conditioned, so everyting stays the same.
Hashrate has dropped .1-.2 th, so not that much, but!!!: current hasnt dropped tat much as well!
i measure only .15 amps (230v) less... so thats roughly 20-30 watts, but also one to 2 tenth less hashrate.

oh by the way: hashing on nicehash: Easy to monitor...

edit: I just pointed the 2 to a AsicBoost supported website, and it looks like that's making a difference: 1 amp down each...

Does this indeed only works with an asicboost pool?

Does this indeed only works with an asicboost pool?

Are you asking if the ASICBOOST fw only works on ASICBOOST enabled pools?

Yes and no. The energy savings of using AB can only be realized on AB-enabled pools. BM AB fw is unique so far in allowing the miner to still function on non-AB enabled pools like a normal miner.

Just updated to the 11218 LPM firmware.  Seems my hashrate is slightly higher and low power consumption around 12-15%.  I only read through the first two pages and the last page on this thread, but has anyone been able to run this with the LPM box unchecked and confirmed higher hashrate?  So far from what i've read on the first two pages, no differences with LPM box checked or unchecked.  Btw, I am running this on pool.bitcoin since they notified me that the pool now supports ASICBoost.

after almost 46 hours, the miners are now disconnected from pool though they are apparently running (there is no error light on miner and controller and boards are powering up) - I cannot remote into them and reset has failed.

update: after about 6 attempts at reset, they finally reset and are now hashing after I reconfigured. I dont know why this happened - they were both at about 13.8TH/s then both at same time went to zero and I could not connect - temps were in the 60's and humidity is at 48%

2nd update: after 15 mins of running, the miners disconnected from pool and both show blank screens on miner status - after approx. 5 mins they both reconnected to the pool and are hashing at 13.8 TH/s again.

if they disconnect again, I am going to revert them to their original firmware.

3rd update: after another 10 minutes on the pool - one disconnected and the lights went out on all 3 hash boards - after a reset, 2 appear to have come back on. I am not taking any chances - all these miners ran perfect on the Nov Firmware - and now they are dropping like flies on the LPM firmware. I am now reverting all back to the Nov firmware.

I did not see anything standing out in the kernel logs - but I was busy doing the resets, I did not think to copy out the logs - do the logs output somewhere automatically? So, I can go back and try to see what was going on?

4th update: one miner will work for about 10 mins after being reset, will connect to pool - no chips have X's - temps are below 75 - then it will reboot and hashboard lights will go off. I see no errors in the Kernel log - the only thing I do notice is on the system screen, the BMMINER version is blank. I have reflashed the firmware multiple times - its the same copy that the other working miners are using.

I see something about some not receiving something called "nonce" - what is that? and am I missing something obvious?

final update: I did another firmware update on the one miner that was acting up, and it has now been up and running with zero issues for almost an hour.

not sure if it was the LPM firmware or something else, but for all the miners to shut down within a minute of each other - was not network related as all my S9i's and S9j's have had no issues. I really wish I had better luck with the LPM Firmware.

Are you asking if the ASICBOOST fw only works on ASICBOOST enabled pools?

Yes and no. The energy savings of using AB can only be realized on AB-enabled pools. BM AB fw is unique so far in allowing the miner to still function on non-AB enabled pools like a normal miner.

nowhere in the fw or its description i read anything about overt asic boost. The firmware doesnt boost anything. The firmware is called "lpm", wich i translate into "low power mode". It doesnt do low power when not connected to an asic boost supported pool.... So yes, my question was if this firmware only supports low power when connected to an asic boost optimised pool.

No weird question i think?  Wink

You must be confused, because bitmain has called it ASICboost firmware from its release.

At least one user has tested the new FW against a pool that does not support AB and Kano.is which does support AB. They ran several tests and saw a 200w drop in power when pointed to Kano (AB) vs the non-AB pool and results are fully repeatable as they switched back and forth between the 2 pools. So that tells us that LPM is only active on pools that support AB otherwise the miner runs at original power specs.

Nice thing is, we finally have an apples-to-apples comparison to what AB can do unlike the Inno/Halong miners that cannot be tested because they only work on AB pools.

I wanted to report some issues with a few miners running the latest version of LP and ViaBTC pool

One in 10 miners (just an estimation) will report as it is hashing in the miner web interface without any hash boards present. The pool does not not accept these hashes.

what miner is this? does not look like an S9 - isnt the LPM FW only for the S9?

Okay, I have applied the latest 11218 lpm firmware found on bitmains downloads section.  I confirmed with pool.bitcoin.com support its compatible on their pool.  Ive been running this now for 48hrs.  My S9 is in my server room, with a dedicated 24/7 HVAC temps on my asic average 62-68F 24/7.  I have noticed a power drop, but as for hashrate.. nothing has changed, according to the stats on pool.bitcoin my daily hashrate the last 48hrs are pretty much the same pre-lpw firmware update.

I was expected a small bump in hashrate based on some light reading of this "asiicboost" update.. but guess I am misreading something?

that is an s9? I have never seen the miner status screen look that - is that a fixed frequency miner? if so, maybe that is why it looks different than all my s9's
