European parliament is discussing the ban of certain plastic products, mostly the so called "picnic plastic" - plastic plates, forks, straws etc. I feel it is a step in the right direction. Sure, it won't be super easy to adjust, but in the long run it is better for the planet and our health. The so called micro plastic can enter the human body and do a lot of damage. Not to mention the harm plastic does to the animals that had nothing to do with it at all.

What is your stance? Do you support it? Will you have trouble adapting?

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

As the EU is pretty consumer friendly, they're going to most likely attempt to look out for consumers with a higher regard then what other countries that are attempting to promote the growth of businesses within their country.

So yeah, this sort of thing isn't surprising in the lease. Though I do think this is just going to push more and more people out of forming a corporation by making things more expensive to produce (through regulation)

I don't know if this is the right thing to do, and that commie hellfish always watches me so he will pop in and speak, though I will comment that this will hurt business growth in the EU (alongside their other pro-consumer policy)

This is definitely a good initiative. Plastic is much more dangerous to humans and nature than meet the eye. I just wonder what they're going to replace it with, some sort of recycled biodegradable material?

If it is this, this is probably a much more expensive material -- costing industry (within the EU of course) a good amount of money in forced regulation. Yet again, I'm not saying it's not the right thing to do as I haven't personally looked into it. It just must be noted that this is going to hit businesses pretty hard as it just pushes down the production line until it hits the consumers (and we know how people are about price increases, eh?)

Probably better alternatives than an all-out ban, at least in my view.

Good. It's about time that we do things like this, no matter how simple, to minimize waste in the planet. We are creating too much trash, the planet cannot cope with it anymore. The world is already going through climate change. We are already suffering its effects.

This is definitely a step in good direction, but I`m afraid it will hardly change the situation globally. I wonder if our civilization is beyond the point of no return and nothing can fix the harm we did to our planet.

Burning is natures way to destroy disease and reduce waste. We need to convert plastic waste into energy, and improve the methods of reducing emissions.

In my view, all of us should support for this. Because environment helps us to take a breath so, isn't it our responsibility to take care about the environment?

I already read this somewhere else. The main reason cited is to protect whales and sea animals from eating those garbage which they cannot digest and which will kill them.
A good step : yes. But it is too limited.
Mediterranean sea or the North Sea or even the Atlantic ocean will always have plastics if someone outside the EU will keep throwing it in the sea even thousands of miles away. Besides, chemicals waste are always trashed in the ocean (without forgetting the greenhouse effect which doesn't exist obviously thanks to the clever and the best potus ever).
I fully support any ban issued against this silent killer and hormones modifiers, BPA iykwim.

Exactly, I would think this is an all or nothing type of legislation. If the rest of the world is going to do it, then so be it I'll support it, but without the rest of the world we're going to have some issues with this legislation working. Yes it's going to work to an extent, but there's only so much that can be done to ensure that there is workable environmental legislation without hurting economies.

I think this is the right decision. It's time to get rid of plastic disposable tableware. You also need to get rid of disposable plastic bags. It  cause great harm to nature.
I think each of us can become a superman and begin to save our planet. To do this, just need to give up plastic bags. Go to the store with a special bag, do not buy bottled water, etc.
It is so easy, but so necessary for our planet.
