As ETFbitcoin already mentioned, the recovery software needs to know the type and structure of the file to recognize whether it is corrupted or not.
And this is not the case with an electrum-wallet-file without a file extension.

I'd also assume that your file is corrupted.

Do you still have the original drive where you have recovered it from ?
If so, you hopefully still have the untouched original ? In case you do, create an image of this drive (which should always be done; never work on the original drive) and try out another recovery software.

The recovery process is strictly depending on the software used. A different software does produce different results.

Unfortunately, your only possibility is to recover that file without any corruption  Undecided

As a last resource, could you open the wallet file you recovered in Notepad? You didn't mention if the file was encrypted.

If you didn't use a password in that wallet, your seed will be readily available to you to copy and restore the wallet, look for this part in your wallet file:

    "keystore": {
        "seed": xxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxx..........

Of course this only would work if you didn't use a password when saving that file.

wallet encryption back in 2016 (if i am not mistaken) was not the whole wallet file so if OP opens a wallet file that was created that long ago with notepad he should still see the JSON file (if the wallet was any version above 2.0) and only see the seed and private keys encrypted in case he placed a password on it. in which case it will be much easier to work on decrypting that since the encryption Electrum uses is known.
