Hi,

This post is to explain how to mine URX coin, a 100% cpu hard to mine coin, argon2d algorithm.

I will only explain with cpuminer for windows, later we will show with Ubuntu LTS from windows 10 store.

This is very basic instuctions, but we had many people that are not used to mining that wanted to have an easy access info.

------------- 1 ------------
Go on
http://uranium-x.com/

And install the wallet.

or github direct link --> https://github.com/uraniumx/uraniumx/releases

------------- 2 ------------

You can found the miner on discord, channel #official-links
https://discord.gg/7zkKtff

Or github
https://github.com/RickillerZ/cpuminer-opt/releases/download/3.9.3b/cpuminer3.9.3b.zip
Latest realease
https://github.com/RickillerZ/cpuminer-opt/releases/download/3.9.4/cpuminer3.9.4.zip

Thank to RickillerZ for making the bin

------------- 3 ------------

Unzip

------------- 4 ------------

Edit the uranium.cmd file (right click edit with notepad) and change your wallet address in both files

cpuminer-avx.exe -t 8 -a argon2ad -o stratum+tcp://mine.icemining.ca:4234 -u YOURWALLETADDRESS -p c=URX

Edit the 2nd file uranium_sse2.cmd

cpuminer-sse2.exe -t 8 -a argon2ad -o stratum+tcp://mine.icemining.ca:4234 -u YOURWALLETADDRESS -p c=URX

Icemining is the only pool to mine, thanks to barrystyle for setting up the stratum.
there are 3 differents port based on your location
      stratum+tcp://mine.icemining.ca:4234
      stratum+tcp://eu.icemining.ca:4234
      stratum+tcp://hk.icemining.ca:4234

So change stratum accordingly to your location.

POOL TO HELP URX COMMUNITY - 0,5% for pool + 0,5% for Community Wallet to help promote URX

https://pool.rplant.xyz/

Username:                   your_uranium-x_wallet_address.worker_name
Password:                    anything
Algorithm:                   argon2ad
URL (difficulty 1):       stratum+tcp://pool.rplant.xyz:3360
URL (difficulty 0.5):  stratum+tcp://pool.rplant.xyz:3361

An other important option is the CPU speed

-t is the number of miner threads ÿou want to use

Let's take an exemple with and i7 4790k - 4 cores 8 threads, if I want full speed, 100% of cpu working, I choose -t 8 (all treads), if I want to mine with 50% of cpu power I will choose -t 4 and so on.

------------- 5 ------------

Now you have 2 CMD files. you will have to test which one gives you more hashrate based on your CPU specs and brand.

To start mining just double click cmd file of your choice !

uranium.cmd
or
uranium_sse2.cmd

------------- 6 ------------

Don't forget to report your hashrate on discord #cpu-hashrate-report

Exemple of hashrate
      FX 8320 Black Edition -5000 H/s
      Ryzen 7 1800x -12.86 kH
      i7-7700 @ 3.6GHz -7.3-7.4 KH/s
      i7-6700K @ 4.00GHz - 6300 H/s

The thing to remember is that URX is a slow moving coin with Low payouts that has been Designed from the ground up to be hard to mine.

(¯`·._.·(¯`·._.·(¯`·._.· Happy mining ! ·._.·´¯)·._.·´¯)·._.·´¯)

Thanks for this guide, it's good to know there are new coins specially designed to be mined by CPUs. Probably like many other people, what I would like to know first and foremost is what kind of money you should expect from mining Uranium-X? I have a modern i-7 6-core CPU. Do you have a rough estimate?

Don't trust this guy, or this miner. It's a ripoff of cpuminer-opt and he didn't publish thes source code.
For all anyone knows it may have a hidden dev fee or even worse. Stay far away from this one.
