Hey Guys,

I am a newbie in mining field but i do hold a little bit of information on how to set up mining RIG and what all parts are recommended to build a robust and efficient RIG.

Anways, with the information i hold, i have ordered a lot of stuff for the two mining RIGS i am gonna build. I need your inputs on certain questions i am gonna ask at the end of this write up.

Lemme introduce you to the stuff i already have and the stuff i am gonna receive soon.

1) Motherboard Power ON/Reset cable x 2 nos.

2) Corsair Vengeance RAM 4GB x 2 nos.

3) ADATA 2.5" SATA 6GB/s SOLID STATE DRIVE x 2 nos.

4) ASUS eternal slim DVD-RW (External) x 1 nos.

5) Rosewill Bronze 80 Silent PSU 1000W x 2 nos.

6) ASUS Radeon R9 270x Graphics Card x 2 nos.

7) Gigabyte R9 270x Graphics Card x 2 nos.

8) Sapphire Radeon R9 270x Graphics Card x 4 nos.

9) Wireless Keyboard and Mouse x 1 nos.

10) Linksys Wi-fi adapters x 2 nos.

11) 16x non-powered PCI-E riser cables x 2 nos.

12) 1x to 16x non-powered PCI-E riser cables x 6 nos.

13) ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard x 2  nos.

Okay. So this is the stuff i own now and i am gonna assemble both the RIGS as soon as i have all the stuff with me (as some of the stuff is still in transit).

Some of the questions i would request you Pro's to answer are:-

A) What would be the running expense for this setup. Monthly figure pls.

B) I have a 5KVA electricity connection with power backup of 5KVA. I even have a 2Battery Sine-Wave Inverter installed. Can i run my RIG on alternate power in case the electricity goes off ??

C) Expected daily/monthly earnings with this kind of set-up ?? *** I wouldn't mind mining high yielding coins***

D) Do you suggest to use a milk crate or shall i get a wooden frame assembled from a local carpenter ??

E) Any suggestion/insights/criticism are welcome. Feel free to post please.

don't go for the 270x. If you are building with only one 270x due to budget itsensible. Instead of buying 8 270x, go for 4 or 5 280x. you'll getting the same hashpower with only one rig. you'll save by buying only one M/B, processor and other stuffs except for the power supply which you'll 1500 for 4 280x build and 1800 for 5 280x build

I will be using 4 nos. of 270x in each RIG. I chose 270x considering the hot weather of india during summers. I am pretty sure that 1000w PSU can power up such a RIG.

Correct me if i am wrong.

Ok I think I may be able to answer your questions

A. Your rig will consume about 1700watts and at the rate of Rs. 7.5 per killiowatt it will cost about 9000 bucks if you run it continuously for a month.

B. Most probably it will run on backup fine.

C. If you mine the most profitable alt coin(not on coinwarz) you will make about $31 a day which is about Rs.2000(monthly earnings would be 60k)
but a coin may not be that profitable always and so if you mine only doge coin or LTC you will make around 20$ =  Rs.1240( monthly earnings 38k)

D. A frame would give you better temps but a simple milk crate is good enough too if you dont want to spend any extra.

Thanks Jaideep.

Looks like i am doing fine so far. I'd like to ask one more thing though. Whenever electricity goes off, it takes about 1-2 minutes for power back up to resume. In that case, an inverter can take the load of RIGS or not ?? if not, what are the alternatives ??

Hi Robin I run 7x R9 290, 1x R9 290x and 1x 280x

Inverter will not be able to help, i have done all research and tested it my self , best solution is online ups.
go with Eaton 9145 (2.2 KV) it will cost about 34k will provide a back up of 15 minutes on full load.
I got 2 of them my power back takes 2-3 minutes to switch.

Thanks.
