Fantom network completes successful upgrade

The Go-Opera update went live on April 29, further improving the network’s performance and reliability.

1. Time-to-finality has been optimized. On average, a transaction takes 1 second to be finalized.

2. Improved decentralization: New nodes can join the network more easily as a) P2P synchronization has become 3 times faster, b) new nodes won’t need to process previous events.

3. Event emission has also become more efficient, making the network more resilient during suboptimal conditions like slow propagation between nodes

HyperChain Capital invests $15m into Fantom

HyperChain Capital, a leading digital assets management company, has acquired an additional $15 million stake in the Fantom ecosystem through the purchase of FTM. HyperChain has invested $2.5 million into Fantom in 2018 and is running a validator node through its subsidiary Hyperblocks.

Unlike most of the other coins, Fantom has a strong base and a case to prove. If you read their whitepaper, you will get a proper understanding on what they do and what we can expect in the future. On Binance, it has performed really well and if the recent dip was not there, it would have gained new ATHs on daily basis.

I would not buy it, seems to be not really innovative and just a little bit hyped.
Because we know: Ethereum is currently leading
Binance is not really an alternative because it's not decentralized
People don't do much research about new coins

And while Fantom has not really outstanding technicals, it will end forgotten like so many coins.

It's nice to see that some projects made it, at least in terms of gaining market capitalization and probably bringing profits to investors. When I see things like this, I wonder what's the success rate of new coins that appear. I'm surprised there's no research on this matter, as I'm sure it could be useful to many people. Or is it because the amount of data is too big? For instance, it could be an experiment of monitoring all new coins, added to Binance (or maybe a smaller exchange) over 7 days. And then monitoring the price of these coins over the next month. Then, compiling the data on which coins went up or down, and what was the chance of losing money in case of investing once it's listed.
