There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin-Qt, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I’ve accepted bitcoins at my wife’s salon in London (UK) since July. Advertised on google/our site/yell/tl/local borough’s site/etc. Had a dozen of mobile message payments (new thing as well) since then but not a single request to pay in BTC. It is pointless for a service business for now - some people ask but only for WTF/freak factor, more embarrassing than profitable Sad

Well I live in London and was looking for real life services there. I did not see your salon on the map ever:

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Real_world_shops

You should put your details, cost, address up there. There are a few bitcoin people in London.

Sorry, I’d need a tutorial to do that. I’ll wait until it feels like it is worth all the effort, I guess – we are not short on customers as such (established in 1966). I’ve pmed you the website addr. – do come around if you choose – pretty sure you’ll be happy with the service. If you care to pay in BTC – let me know. You’ll be the first – can have a sticker.
