at present the ICO price is indeed not a good benchmark, because some coins fall very far from the ICO price when the coin enters the exchanger,
investing in a good ICO will still be profitable, but it definitely takes a long time

Another reason might be because they are pegged at higher prices when bitcoin was high, when they hit market after the crowdsale no doubt they will feel the pressure too. I have no doubt that ICO investment is still profitable just no moon this time, but once bitcoin is up again it will create a domino effect in the market.

The entire cryptocurrency market has been hammered with a 80% average fall from their highs in the last 9 months and are now trading along a bottom and you expect to more than doulble your money overnight on an ICO? Sorry, but expecting to double your money on an ICO as soon as it lists is unrealistic and if you are asking will things return to the hyped up days of 2017 the short answer is no.

Back in those days lol (just last year). Yes, it was profitable before but you have to consider the market situation. This is year is different wherein if a new coin/token got listed you have to expect like more or less 50% down on its ICO price. But there are some who succeeded even in bloody days like CHT(clearing house token), I don't know what they did but they did a great job.

With this market condition, ICO investing has too many risks. The market condition is not the only reason to dump ICO price. Because most ICO projects are cheating investors. They are collecting a large number of funds and funds and listing small exchanges. Small exchanges cannot give enough return on investment to investors. Another reason is people are not going invest ICO project with this scam ICOs. The reasons are depend on a person by person.

Before when the coins were going 2x - 5x after getting out of ICOs was because the scam was too less and good projects were only launching their ICOs. But now everyone is launching their ICOs without any proper plan and 90% of them end scamming and run away with the money. So people are scared of investing in the ICOs in fear of scam so ICOs do not get investments so those who get free coins in the form of Airdrops and Bounty sell their coins for the cheap price and because of this price goes down.

ICO using smart token from ethereum and we know that ethereum right now cannot stay in $500 and even it reached in less than $200. So it gives impact to ICO, and they cannot reach success like the last year. Besides that, we read that many ICO runs away and not finished their project because they are not getting many investors to invest in their project. In the future, there will be a new model like ICO that will give us a profit like before, and it will happen soon after the market recover.

I think the bonus dumped by investors is something that affects and bounty hunters who panic and immediately sell their reward. Their product average is also not fully launched and the situation will not affect the increase in demand for tokens. So the price will not exceed the price of ico, unless they pump it.

Yeah last year almost every ico reach their hardcap or at least half of it or softcap. But now most of icos don't reach softcap. I think investors are afraid of losing money. Cause last few months most of the icos don't give any profit when they hit the exchange even after 3-4 months they are belong to half price of icos. There is many problem one of them is the whole market is down so the icos are. Icos give a lots of bonus on presale or private sales that is one of the main problem. And people are afraid of scam project or failed project. But in this down market few good icos give profit even 3-4x. After invest follow and research on the project for some time.

this is because people are getting wiser.  and project developers are getting more greedy.  more and more people now are doing more research before investing, while project developers are pricing their coins/tokens higher and higher, or issuing more and more coins/tokens.  easy money was a thing only during 2017.

ICOs are in need of regulation, until that happens there will be no more hype in that industry. Private funding for crypto projects make the most sense.

i think because of the sudden down of the market, many including coins that are connected to btc, BTC has a huge impact in cryptocurrecny, and number 1 in cryptomarket, i think thats the reason.

I think if that ICO really offer a good product/Brilliant Idea,  it just easy for them to make 2 until 5 x when hitting an exchange. Example : zilliqa. Its the ICO in 2018.

I dont think its all the bounty hunter fault. Investor already invest their money for 3-6 months before the coin/token got listed on the exchanger. You can try to research first cause bounty allocation only 1 % and some of them got locked 3 months after hitting the exchange and the price still going down. The right answer is the investor right now still watching the market. cause the market condition is not good at the moment.
