There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

4/1/14 - VWAP = 666 (seriously though lol - it's a good guess for mid 600s)

pass $800 on tuesday, second week of April.

I believe that we need to form a new base to the current bull run because it has been left high and dry for too many days, forming a weak 3wave rally. now that we have possibly 180k coins entering the market, and possibly up to 750k, that will take some weeks to digest, if not causing new lows. but I beieve the tide is turning, and it will be behind us in a matter of weeks.

666 is a good guess for stamp assuming a bull/bear stand off. we may see 700s sooner than I might guess, so now that we are likely to explore the 500s again, this will be the median.

This is a great idea BTW, Cheers!

1. $821 on 4/1

2. BTC crosses $800 on Bitstamp 20 days from now, Thursday, 3/27

(1) 686 on 4/1

(2) 808 on 4/15

because the world is round
because the wind is high
because the sky is blue

The exponential trendline, at the current offset, interpolated forward with the following caveats:

(1) That line intersects a peak-to-peak resistance line before 4/1; therefore upward progress may be retarded by resistance at that time.  686 chosen to be $5 from each of 691 and 681, which are significant levels for different reasons (691 reflecting an upper volatility range from a fibonnaci level at 681).

(2) Continuing the interpolation, 800 level is crossed on 4/18, but breaking the upside resistance from early April implies some additional upward momentum, and a corresponding volatility adjustment places the centroid at 800 on 4/15.  It is likely to overshoot the round number and then pull back.

Good point to clarify. I'll look at the 24 VWAP at EGT 24:00 (GMT - 1:00), which should be 12:00 AM on this thread. I'm assuming the timestamps are the same for everyone. Right when the bitcointalk forum clock strikes midnight on Wed 4/2

What if the IAU declares a leap second?

EDIT:  Then, there will be cake.

1. 625. I see us going up to around 730, then back down in an overall sideways pattern on the 1d chart.

2. $800 on May 7, 2014. It will touch $800 in a brief spike (on 1d chart) before stabilizing in the 700s.

1. And the bad news just keeps on coming. It seems almost orchestrated. So even though I believe in the long term success of the protocol, the trend is down imho for longer than any of us suspects. $493 April 1st.

2. Bitcoin never seems to do what anyone expects. I've seen some pattern matching that seem to imply upward inevitability around 2-3 months, iirc. So, BTC will NOT do that this time. A gut feeling only. $800 January 15/'15. That should shake some people out. The doldrums of the rise.

I certainly wouldn't mind being wrong on both counts. I want to lose this contest!

1. $830.  I base that off absolutely nothing, other than the fact that is relatively the value when the bad news started pouring in late/mid January (China fear, before gox theft), and i'd be very happy if the value got there again.
2. 3/15/14, spread my bets out lot.

1. 710$. I say the price will go to $700-ish zone in the next 1-2 weeks and stay there for another week. I have no idea so I my guess is based on the theory that the $400 low is comparable to the $60 low in July.
2. I guess the first monday in May, so 2014.05.05

1. $555 the pennant on the daily charts due to resolve at around $540 mid april will have two weeks left to go and price will be min $530, max $580, so this is the midpoint.

2. Price breaks up after that. $800+ about a month later, say 15th May.

1. $689. Despite a hail of recent bad news, the price has floated in the 600s. Barring a major event i think its likely to stay fairly stable for the next couple months.

2. 5/07/14.

1. $676
2. 4/29/14

15DYJpWJe9H1YofsNQbP9JEWWNn7XPZgbS

$800 will take a while but I don't think we will go down below $500
BTC is stuck resting and things will/should stay quiet for a while.
