It's not that we need to use "just paper" as a currency. It was more like it was what we were introduced to a very long time ago. It's been existing for a very long time, so people are used to it, and have been treating it as the "official" currency worldwide. I have found that most people are uninformed about how fiat money really works, it's astonishing how many people still believe that fiat money is backed by gold.

Anybody that think or believed fiat money are backed by gold definitely lack knowledge about how currencies works and the last time I checked fiat currencies was created because gold which was first used as currency is not easy transport and divide. However, the Chinese are the first country to use paper money.

I love paper money because I can feel it, I can "smell" it, I can count it in hands and I have feeling of spending money unlike digital money where I do not have that feeling. On the otherside I do not love paper money because you have to spend it physically or trust someone other to spend it.

Let's just say that it is the alternative way of trading things, foods, livestocks which seems to have a different value and is sometimes too heavy to carry. Paper money used to replace gold because gold not flexible to carry. At first time, paper money back up by gold but after bretton wood agreement, paper money isssued based on government trust and not back up by anything.

In addition in your reply, paper money is now currently used because it is a traditional currency since trading or exchanging item is gone because they found out that it is not worth it. The mass is giving it value, because they know that their fiat currencies are usable as money everywhere, and not just in some lucky places like crypto currencies, meaning, we have a very long journey of acceptance to go through.

Fiat's main perk is that you don't have to bother looking at its value on a daily basis to know what you can buy with it. I know, some fiat currencies suck hard in that regard, but the more stable ones definitely do their job well.

What happens with fiat when we suddenly realize that we can't spend or exchange it anymore? It becomes worthless. It's not backed by anything that would allow it to maintain somewhat of a base value. Fiat value is in our minds.

I don't think it's because the material is made of paper or metal so they want to use it as a means of transaction for centuries, but because the trust that arises from all parties to a currency, paper money or metal is just a physical symbol to indicate the amount of exchange value, actually bitcoin can also be used as a currency if all parties can store trust in bitcoin as a transaction tool

bitcoin is a digital currency . He who don't about bitcoin can say it is scam.we need to share our knowledge of bitcoin to whole over the world . Bitcoin is a real money .You can use it against paper money.
