NOT ABLE TO POST GIF ON FORUM

Is a copper Newbie eligible to post GIF images on the forum or one has to first rank up to Jr Member. I have tried posting GIF images whilst following the correct procedure of posting GIFs or images but all i keep getting is:

bitcointalk.org image proxy:
invalid image

Can some please help me out on what could be wrong?

Note: i have also tried changing GIF hosting sites to no success.

Give me a link to this gif and I'll try it.
If you can post images, there should be no problem to post GIFs too, there are no restrictions.

I think the op did not do it correctly, I searched some gif and I found this one and when I try preview it worked as it should be, if the op did the right BbCodes to use. Since copper members are able post images like jr. members and higher ranks, I think the Op need to learn what BbCodes are best to use when it comes to images whether a gif or not.

That's .mp4 instead of .gif.

I tried your other .gif too, it didn't work. Maybe it's caused by using imgur.com, try tinypic.com and see if it works.

But the forum has file size limit. (see the reference below)
In addition imgur converts big gifs to vgif which is the case with your link.
Be sure when you post that the link leads to the file itself, like in the example below

You can use ezgif.com to compress the gifs you try to post and then upload it to imgur.
Ezgif keep your files only 24 hours so the link above will stop working tomorrow.

Thank so much... it was definitely the GIF size that was a barrier
